【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は滅菌ガスを用いた滅菌方法および滅菌
装置に関する。さらに詳しくは、被滅菌物を効率
よく滅菌することのできる滅菌方法および滅菌装
置に関する。

医療器具などを滅菌する方法としては、ガス滅
菌、蒸気滅菌および放射線滅菌などの方法が一般
に使用されている。このうち蒸気滅菌と放射線滅
菌は高熱あるいは放射線による材料の劣化がしば
しば起こるので、適用できる材料には自ずと制限
がある。これに対してガス滅菌は温和な条件で滅
菌がなされるのでこのような問題がなく種々の製
品に対して広く用いられている。しかしガス滅菌
法には多大の時間を必要とするという問題点があ
る。すなわち、ガス滅菌を行なう場合、被滅菌物
を滅菌ガスと数時間以上接触させておかなければ
十分な滅菌効果を得ることはできないが、滅菌効
率を高めるための被滅菌物の予熱および滅菌後の
滅菌ガスの除去にも同程度の時間を必要とするの
で、1サイクルに要する時間は約10〜20時間に達
し、きわめて効率が悪い。

本発明はかかる現状に鑑みてなされたものであ
り、効率よくガス滅菌を行なうことのできる方法
を提供することを目的とする。また本発明の他の
目的は効率よくガス滅菌を行なうことのできる装
置を提供することにある。本発明は、被滅菌物の
予熱、滅菌ガスによる処理および滅菌ガスの除去
をそれぞれ隣接した室で順次行なうことによりこ
れらの目的を達成するものである。

である。また本発明は、被滅菌物を略滅菌温度に
予熱するための予熱室、滅菌ガスを導入して所定
温度に所定時間保持し滅菌を行なうための滅菌室
および被滅菌物中に残存する滅菌ガスを除去する
ための脱ガス室がこの順に連結して設けられ、各
室における処理が終了した被滅菌物を次の室に移
送する手段を有することを特徴とする滅菌装置で
ある。

い。滅菌処理が終了したなら、室内のガスを排出
し、空気を導入してドア8′を開き、被滅菌物を
搬出する。

て脱ガス室3より搬出し、次いでドア9′を閉じ
て第2図に示すようにドア8′を開く。そして被
滅菌物5を脱ガス室3へ移送すると同時にドア8
を開けて被滅菌物6を滅菌室2へ移送し、空にな
つた予熱室1にはドア9を開いて次の被滅菌物を
搬入する。そしてそれぞれの室で次の処理を繰り
返す。このようにしたことにより、予熱および脱
ガスの行なわれている間にも滅菌が行なわれるの
で、効率よく処理することができる。これに対
し、従来は滅菌室で予熱および脱ガスを行なつて
いたので、その間は滅菌を行なうことができず、
多大の時間を必要とする効率の悪いものであつ
た。本発明により、従来の方法にくらべて効率を
2〜3倍以上に向上させることができた。
