In order to impart elasticity to metal mesh knitted with thin metal wires, it has been conventionally practiced to apply corrugation consisting of a series of concavities and convexities.
It is known that if the corrugation is applied diagonally, for example at an angle of about 15 degrees in the width direction, the elasticity will be excellent. For this reason, conventionally, as shown in Figs. 1 to 4, a metal mesh b is passed between a pair of upper and lower corrugated rollers a and a in the form of a helical gear that rotate while meshing with each other, and the meshing of the unevenness of the upper and lower teeth is carried out. A method has been used in which corrugation c consisting of a series of approximately triangular irregularities as shown in Fig. 4 is applied in an oblique direction by causing plastic deformation between the corrugated roller , a are twisted in one direction, so when the metal mesh b passes, a thrust force acts and is pushed in one direction, causing a problem in that the finished width becomes uneven.

Using fine stainless steel wire, the metal mesh 1 knitted into a long cylindrical shape as shown in FIG. 5 is flattened in the radial direction as shown in FIG. As shown, corrugation consisting of a series of approximately triangular irregularities is applied by passing between a pair of corrugated rollers in the shape of gears that mesh with each other. , a narrow roller 23 in the shape of a straight gear is fitted in the center of the rotating shaft 20, and the tooth trace 23a is parallel to the rotating shaft 20.
On one side thereof, there is a helical gear-shaped roller 21 with a tooth trace 21a formed in a right-handed twist, and on the other side, a tooth trace 22a is formed in a left-handed twist with a tooth trace 22a twisted in the same angle and opposite direction as the tooth trace 21a of the roller 21. The helical gear-shaped rollers 22 are closely fitted to each other so that the respective tooth traces 21a and 22a are continuous with the tooth trace 23a of the central roller 23a, and a corrugated roller pair having such a configuration is formed. When the metal mesh 1 is passed between 2 and 2, a corrugation 13a parallel to the width direction is applied to the center part, and diagonal corrugations 11a and 12a with opposite inclination directions and the same angle are formed on both sides. A symmetrical corrugated metal mesh 1a is obtained. In this embodiment, a thrust force is applied to the portion of the metal mesh 1 that passes through the left and right rollers 21 and 22 by the twisted tooth traces 21a and 22a, respectively, but the tooth traces 21a and 22a have the same twist angle. Since the directions are opposite, when the metal mesh 1 passes through the center of the corrugated roller pair 2, the thrust forces in opposite directions balance and cancel each other out.
The metal mesh 1 is corrugated without being gathered to either the left or right side.

In this embodiment, since the roller 23 with the tooth trace 23a parallel to each other is provided between the rollers 21 and 22 on both sides of which the tooth traces 21a and 22a are left and right reversely twisted, the diagonal waves on both sides of the corrugated metal mesh 1a are removed. Attachment 11
a, 12a are continuous at a gentle angle, and the advantage is that large deformation does not occur at the continuous point of corrugation, and there is no catch with the corner of the tooth line at the exit of the corrugated roller pair 2, 2. has.

In addition, in the corrugated roller pair 4, 4 shown in FIG. 9, helical gear-shaped rollers 41, 42 in which tooth traces 41c, 42c are twisted at the same angle and in opposite directions, respectively, are fitted onto the rotating shaft 40, with the rollers 41, 42 coming into contact with each other. When the metal mesh 1 is passed between the pair of corrugated rollers 4, 4, the corrugations 11c, 1 are inclined in opposite directions.
A corrugated metal mesh 1c in which 2c is continuous in the center is obtained.

As specifically explained in the above embodiments, in the corrugated metal mesh of the present invention, in the metal mesh knitted with fine metal wires, diagonal corrugation consisting of a series of unevenness is formed in the width direction. The gist is that the corrugation is applied in a substantially symmetrical manner centering on the central part, so that when the corrugation is applied between the pair of corrugating rollers, it is not biased in one direction, and the waveform is applied to a constant width. It has the effect of accurately finishing,
Further, the corrugation device of the present invention applies a corrugation consisting of a series of unevenness by passing a metal mesh made of thin metal wires between a pair of gear-shaped corrugation rollers that rotate while meshing with each other. In the corrugating device for metal mesh, the gist is that the tooth traces of the pair of corrugating rollers are twisted in a substantially symmetrical shape centering on the center part in the width direction,
The above-mentioned corrugated metal mesh can be reliably corrugated.
