A conventionally known water cooling tank of this type has a structure as shown in FIG. 1, for example. That is, in the illustrated water cooling tank, a water tank c is disposed opposite to the outlet b side of a heat treatment furnace a, and a metal strip d sent out from the outlet b to the outside of the furnace a is rotated around the upper side of a support roll e at an angle of about 90 degrees. After changing the direction and introducing it almost directly below into the water tank c, it is made to go around the lower side of the turn roll f disposed in the water tank c and sent out to the outside of the water tank c. According to the water cooling tank, since the contact angle between the metal strip d, which is passed around the support roll e, and the support roll is large, the frictional resistance therebetween becomes large, so a meandering correction device is attached to the rolls after the support roll. However, this doesn't work effectively. Therefore, a meander correction device with a seal structure is installed on the support roll e.
This has the disadvantage that the equipment must be attached to the equipment, making the equipment large-scale and increasing the equipment cost. Further, the meandering correction device can correct the meandering by using the support roll e.
Since this is done by rotating the roll shaft from side to side, excessive force is applied to the metal strip d, which can cause wrinkles and permanent deformation, especially in the case of thin metal strips, resulting in poor quality. Furthermore, when setting the metal strip d into the water tank c prior to operation, the strip had to be bent significantly, which made the process difficult.

On the other hand, in order to eliminate the drawbacks of the water cooling tank mentioned above, the applicant's earlier application, JP-A-Sho.
There is a water-cooled tank shown in Publication No. 56-139629, and this water-cooled tank is arranged on the exit b side tank wall of the water tank c, which is disposed opposite to the outlet b side of the heat treatment furnace a, as shown in Fig. 2, and on the opposite side thereof. An inlet hole g and an outlet hole h are respectively formed in the tank wall, and the metal strip d sent out in a horizontal state from the outlet b is guided into the water tank c from the inlet hole g while remaining in the horizontal state. According to this water cooling tank, there is no need to attach a meandering correction device as in the case of FIG. , i, j, j and a set of their driving devices, and
Since the water in water tank c flows from between seal rolls i and i onto the surface of metal strip d into furnace a, it is necessary to install a gas jet k near the outlet b side of furnace a to prevent this. In addition, even if a gas jet k is installed, it is not possible to completely prevent water from flowing into the furnace a, making the operation of the furnace a unstable. Problems such as accelerated deterioration occur, and furthermore, water in the water pan l is constantly circulated to the water tank c in order to supplement the water flowing out of the water tank from between the seal rolls i and i and between the seal rolls j and j. Therefore, the running costs were not negligible.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. In the figure, 1 is a heat treatment furnace having a pair of upper and lower plenum chambers 2, 2, 3 is its outlet, and 4 is a metal strip, which connects the plenum chambers 2, 2 with the gas blown from the plenum chambers. It is transported in the direction indicated by the solid line arrow in FIG. 3 in a horizontally floating supported state. Reference numeral 5 denotes a water tank disposed opposite the outlet 3, and the height level of the upper end of the side wall 6 on the outlet 3 side of the water tank is slightly lower than the in-furnace pass level of the metal strip 4. The inside is filled with cooling water 7 up to the height of the upper end of the side wall 6. 8 is the water tank 5
and the outlet 3 side of the heat treatment furnace 1, and the water overflowing from the side wall 6 of the water tank 5 is received in the water tank. A rubber support roll 9 is placed near the outlet 3 in the water tank 5 so that the upper surface of the roll is at the water level.
The turn roll 11 is supported horizontally so as to be at almost the same level as the support roll 9, and the turn roll 11 is also supported horizontally in a water tank 5 spaced apart from the support roll 9 by a predetermined distance. The rotating shaft 12 of the turn roll is supported between bearings 14 fixed on supports 13 and 13 provided on both sides of the water tank 5 in the width direction, so that only the lower half of the turn roll 11 can be rotated. It is submerged in water and its rotating shaft 12 is supported outside the water surface. A sprocket 15 is fixed to the rotating shaft 12, and the sprocket is connected to a power source via a transmission chain (not shown), so that the rotating shaft 12 is rotated by the drive thereof. Reference numeral 16 denotes a sealing plate extending above the water tank 5 from the outer upper part of the outlet 3. The tip of the sealing plate is bent downward, and its lower edge 17 is immersed in the water between the support roll 9 and the turn roll 11. This seals the inside and outside of the furnace with water to prevent the gas inside the furnace from flowing out or the outside air from flowing into the furnace. However, in the present invention, the support roll 9
When the metal strip 4 supported above is guided by the turn roll 11 and guided into the water, the angle θ of introduction into the water, that is, the angle θ between the water surface and the metal strip, satisfies the formula tanθ≦1/10. The distance between the support roll 9 and the turn roll 11 and the support height of the turn roll are set so as to satisfy the following conditions.

Note that 18 is a top roll disposed on a support base 19, and the metal strip 4 that has gone around the turn roll 11 goes around the top roll and is sent out of the water tank 5. Further, 20 is a water supply pipe, 21 is a drain pipe, and 22 is a water seal plate provided in the water storage tank 8.

The introduction angle θ at which the metal strip 4 supported on the support roll 9 is guided into the water is a small angle (approximately 5.71° or less) that satisfies the formula tanθ≦1/10. The metal strip 4 is in almost linear contact with the support roll 9, and since the contact angle is extremely small, the frictional resistance therebetween is extremely small.
For this purpose, the metal strip 4 is connected to the support roll 9.
You will no longer be forced to meander around. Therefore, there is no need to attach a meandering correction device to the support roll 9 as in the case of the conventional example shown in FIG. There is no risk that something like this will occur. Furthermore, since the support roll 9 is mostly submerged in water, it is constantly cooled and does not get overheated even when it comes into contact with the metal strip 4, so there is no need to consider heat resistance, and therefore it is not necessary to consider heat resistance. You can choose a material that is soft and will not scratch the metal strip.

Further, in the present invention, the metal strip 4 is connected to the water surface 10.
Since the water is guided into the water through the water surface 10 and sent out of the water tank 5 through the water surface 10, the amount of water flowing out of the water tank 5 can be reduced.
Therefore, there is no need to provide a seal roll and its driving device as in the case of the conventional example shown in FIG. 2 described above. Furthermore, since the metal strip is introduced into the water tank 5 at an angle, water does not flow into the furnace, and therefore there is no need to provide a gas jet inside the furnace, resulting in an extremely simple structure. Furthermore, since the amount of water overflowing into the water tank 8 is small, there is no need to circulate water, and running costs are extremely low.

On the other hand, since only the lower half of the turn roll 11 is submerged in water and the rotating shaft 12 is supported outside the water surface 10, it is necessary to take precautions to prevent rust and corrosion of the bearings 14, 14. It disappears.

Note that in the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the support roll 9 is supported at almost the same level as the water surface 10;
The support roll may be supported so that the upper surface of the support roll protrudes above the water surface 10 as long as water does not run out at the contact surface with the metal strip. Furthermore, if the support roll 9 is placed apart from the side wall 6 of the water tank 5 as shown in FIG. 5, the support roll 9 can be supported completely below the water surface.
