In general, devices for spontaneous drainage or suction drainage after thoracotomy include the one-bottle method with only a fluid collection part, the two-bottle method with a combination of fluid collection part and water seal part, and the two-bottle method with a combination of fluid collection part, water seal part, and A three-bottle method in which a pressure regulating section is combined is conventionally known. However, all of these were primarily intended only for drainage and liquid collection. Furthermore, the commonly used two-bottle method is mainly applied to the natural drainage method.

The body fluid drainage device of the present invention has two features from the form of the device.
Although it belongs to the bottle method and is mainly used for natural drainage, it differs from conventional methods in terms of device configuration, function, and operation. In other words, by providing a mechanism to measure the amount of body fluid discharged after thoracotomy,
It makes it easier to determine whether breast reconstruction is necessary and the degree of recovery, etc.
This is a novel body fluid drainage device that enables more detailed postoperative management, and provides the following basic configuration and functions.

The liquid collection part has a structure that allows accurate measurement of a relatively small amount of body fluid discharged from the thoracic cavity, and is communicated with the water seal part in a gaseous manner at its upper end. By opening the upper end of the water seal to the outside air, the negative pressure within the thoracic cavity can be observed. The upper end of the water seal part that comes into contact with the outside air has an opening/closing mechanism, which opens and closes as necessary to allow air to circulate through the water seal and adjust the intrathoracic pressure in a hygienic manner. moreover,
After measuring the amount of body fluid discharged per hour, the liquid collecting section opens the opening/closing mechanism to allow the liquid to fall into a bag-like container at the bottom and store the fluid. The collected body fluid is discharged from the outlet of the bag-like container. The structure is such that it can be done.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to an example of a clinically used body fluid evacuation device shown in the drawings. A hard hollow plastic container 1 consists of a liquid collection part 2 and a water seal part 3, and the liquid collection part 2 has a body fluid inlet 4 at its upper part, to which a body fluid introduction tube 5 is connected. The water seal portion 3 is in gas communication with the water seal portion 3 through a communication port 6 near the upper end portion. The liquid collection part 2 has a structure that is tapered at the lower part and marked with a scale so that relatively small amounts of body fluid can be accurately measured. Although the capacity of the liquid collecting section 2 is not particularly specified, it is preferably 350 c.c. or less from the viewpoint of accurately measuring the amount of body fluid discharged after surgery. Also,
In clinical cases such as drainage after pneumonectomy, the inventors found that by keeping the volume of the fluid collector at around 350 c.c., the burden on the thoracic cavity was reduced, and the amount of body fluid drained due to wound retention was reduced. There have been cases where the post-operative recovery is quick, with quick stabilization of the mediastinum.

Next, the water seal section 3 has an opening/closing mechanism 9 located at the upper part of the thin tube section 8 on the opposite side of the water seal chamber 7 from the communication port 6 communicating with the liquid collecting section 2 . The opening/closing mechanism 9 measures the negative pressure within the thoracic cavity by opening it to the outside air, and also functions to balance the pressure within the thoracic cavity by allowing air to circulate through the water seal chamber 7. The water-sealing chamber 7 is filled with sterile water to a certain height to form a water-sealing chamber, and prevents the liquid collection section 2 and the thin tube section 8 opened to the outside air from communicating with each other in a gas flow manner. It functions to keep the liquid collection part 2 sanitary.

Furthermore, the lower part of the liquid collecting part 2 communicates with the upper part of the bag-like container 10 via the opening/closing mechanism 11, and the liquid collecting part 2
After measuring the amount of body fluid discharged per hour, the opening/closing mechanism 11 is opened to allow the body fluid to fall into the bag-like container 10 and to be stored therein. There is no problem even if the bag-shaped container 10 has a discharge mechanism 12 for discharging the stored body fluid. Further, the arrangement of the liquid collection part 2 and the bag-like container 10 does not necessarily have to be vertically in series as in the example shown in the drawings, but may be in parallel. In addition, the bag-like container 10
Although it is not necessarily bag-like and may be bottle-like, it is appropriate to use a bag-like shape as shown in the drawings from the viewpoints of structure, ease of handling, overall size, etc.

Further, although the present invention is mainly used for the natural drainage method, it goes without saying that it can also be applied to the suction drainage method. Figure 2 shows the suction connection pipe 13 connected to the liquid collecting section 2.
This is an example in which a pressure regulating suction device 14 is installed and used by connecting it to another pressure regulating suction device 14. When negative pressure suction is not required, if the cap 12 is placed over the tip of the suction connection tube 13 and the cap 12 is closed, body fluids can be discharged by natural drainage as in the example shown in FIG.
