Therefore, the invention of this application provides a method for applying a sealing material to the face adhesive surface of the funnel all around the surface at once and applying it uniformly without dripping, and an apparatus that is directly used in the method. In particular, a sealing material tank is fixed to a frame, and a clamped funnel is faced to the sealing material with the joint surface in a horizontal state using a lifting device.
The rotating shaft is raised from the bottom plate of the tank using another lifting device, and a horizontal coating plate is placed on the upper end of the rotating shaft, and a sealing material is applied to the upper surface of the plate through its high viscosity, once around the entire circumference of the adhesive surface of the funnel. After that, the applied plate and the adhesive surface are slightly separated and rotated relative to each other to cut off the dripping of the applied sealant, and the funnel is turned over and vibrated to remove the applied sealant. This invention relates to a method for applying a funnel sealant to a cathode ray tube so that it is uniformly smoothed, and an apparatus directly used in the method.

However, due to the rotation of the funnel 3, the speed of movement differs between the substantially straight section 7 and the corner section 8 of the attachment surface 4, resulting in a difference in the thickness of the sealing material 5, which has the disadvantage of resulting in poor sealing. Moreover, since a time difference inevitably occurs between the starting point and the ending point, a difference occurs in the drying efficiency of the quick-drying sealing material, and there is a problem that a slope is formed between the joining face 2 and the funnel.

The purpose of the invention of this application is to solve the problem of attaching a sealant to the face joint surface of a funnel of a cathode ray tube based on the above-mentioned prior art, by applying a sealant in the tank to the coating plate through the high viscosity of the sealant. Apply all around the attachment surface of the funnel at once,
Furthermore, by relative rotation of the application plate, the sealant itself cuts off the dripping of the applied sealant, thereby solving all of the aforementioned problems and making it possible to obtain a uniform and smooth application surface of the sealant. It is an object of the present invention to provide an excellent method for attaching a funnel sealant to a cathode ray tube and a device directly used therefor.

The structure of the invention of this application which meets the above-mentioned purpose is to bring a funnel clamped to the top lid of a sealing material tank into contact with it via a lifting device to raise the horizontal surface, and then remove the top lid and stir the sealing material. The coating plate that had been applied was brought into contact with the application surface of the funnel in a stretched state due to its high viscosity through the overflow of the sealing material on its upper surface by being lifted by the lifting device of the rotating shaft, and the application plate was applied to the entire circumference application surface at once. The sealant is applied and adhered, and the funnel and the application plate are slightly separated using a lifting device, and then rotated by a rotating device, the sealant on the application plate is used to cut off the dripping of the sealant applied to the applied surface, and the jig is dropped into the tank. After that, raise the funnel, invert it and reseal the tank from the upper lid, and apply slight vibration to the funnel to ensure that the sealant is uniform on the application surface and that there are no uneven surfaces. The gist of the present invention is to create a smooth state, to enable accurate and speedy coating and adhesion, and to be unaffected by the size and type of the funnel.

Therefore, when the air cylinder 25 is contracted and the funnel 3 is lowered and its adhesive surface 4 contacts the upper lid 12, the air cylinder 25 is stopped for a predetermined period of time due to the increase in internal pressure, and during that time the adhesive surface 4 is brought into contact with the upper lid 12. The handle 33 is fully tightened in a state in which they are in contact with each other and leveled, and after a predetermined time, the air cylinder 25 is raised by a predetermined amount to separate the funnel 3 from the upper lid 12.

Therefore, under this control, the air cylinder 9 suddenly expands to move the top cover 12 away from the tank 8, and the pulse motor 14 operates a set number of pulses to rotate the top cover 12 away from the tank 8 via the pinion 15 and spline 10. and open to expose the opening 13.

Next, the air cylinder 25 is contracted again by a set amount so that the attached surface 4 of the funnel 3 faces into the opening 13, and is stopped at a set position above the liquid level of the sealing material 5.

When this state occurs, the rotation of the motor 23 is stopped, stirring is stopped, and the air cylinder 16 is extended by a set amount to cause the applicator plate 22 to rise from the liquid surface of the sealing material 5 to the surface of the liquid. As a result, the sealing material 5 overflows from the upper surface of the coating plate 22 and falls into the liquid, but is stretched over the upper surface of the coating plate 22 due to its viscosity.

In this case, if the tension sealing material 5 is formed on the convex curved surface of the coating plate 22 due to its viscosity and surface tension, it will be inconvenient for attachment. For example, it is formed into an upwardly concave shape so as to be as flat as possible.

Therefore, when the applicator plate 22 is slightly lowered by a set amount, the motor 23 is restarted and the applicator plate 22 is rotated by the pinion 24, spline 19, and rotating shaft 18, thereby sealing the interposed sag between the applicator plate 22 and the attachment surface 4. The material 5 is cut by the sealant 5 itself, the cut sealant 5 falls back into the sealant 5 in the tank 8, and the application plate 22 is immersed in the sealant 5 again. The stirring blades 21, 21... re-stir the sealing material 5. Therefore, the applied sealing material 5 does not sag and become uneven as shown in FIG. 4.

Therefore, the air cylinder 25 is extended to open the opening 1.
When the attachment surface 4 is raised above 3, the pulse motor 1
4 is operated in reverse for a set number of pulses to reset the upper cover 12, retract the air cylinder 9, seal the upper cover 12 to the tank 8, and operate the pulse motor 31 for a set number of pulses to reverse the funnel 3 by 180 degrees and close the attachment surface. 4 to face the upper surface, and the vibration motor 28 is operated at the same time as the reversal to slightly vibrate the funnel 3 for a predetermined period of time, thereby uniformly smoothing the applied sealing material 5 on the attachment surface 4.

It should be noted that the embodiments of the invention of this application are of course not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments. For example, the dripping seal material may be cut by rotation by raising the funnel side, or the seal material 5 may be cut by rotating the dripping seal material. Various aspects can be adopted, such as omitting the vibration to the funnel 3 to achieve natural uniform smoothing.

As described above, according to the invention of this application, the sealing material can be applied to the sealing material application surface of the face joint surface of the funnel of the cathode ray tube all at once and all around, so that the sealing material has high viscosity and high speed. Even during drying, the drying process progresses uniformly over the entire surface, and the coating is applied evenly and smoothly, resulting in an excellent effect in which the face can be accurately joined to the funnel as designed.

In addition, after coating the application surface, the funnel and the application plate are slightly separated from each other and rotated relative to each other to cut the sag formed between them through the sealing material, thereby eliminating the need for any other means or jig. It has the excellent effect of not only making it possible to cut accurately without using it, making the applied sealant uniform and smooth, but also preventing the sealant from adhering.
