The light emitting diode array used in this electrophotographic printer is one in which multiple microscopic light emitting diode elements (for example, 128 elements) are arranged at regular intervals (for example, 100 μm) on one chip, and is used as a display device for the printer's light source. Furthermore, it is common to install a plurality of light emitting diode arrays (for example, 16 chips) in series. A schematic diagram of this type of light emitting diode array is shown in FIG. In the light emitting diode array 1, a plurality of display dots, that is, minute light emitting parts 3 are arranged on a chip substrate 2 at a predetermined pitch l1 . The distance l 2 from the tip of the light emitting diode array 1 to the most advanced micro light emitting section 3 is approximately the same as the pitch l 1 , and the distance from the tip of the light emitting diode array 1 to the most advanced micro light emitting section 3 If is l 3 , then l 1 = l 2 + l 3
Therefore, the light emitting diode array 1
are arranged in series in the same direction, and the pitches of the minute light emitting parts of the entire display cannot be made the same. Therefore, in a conventional display device for an optical printer, as shown in FIG. 2, the light emitting diode arrays 1 are alternately arranged in a cascade by shifting them in the width direction (up and down in the figure). The distance between the minute light emitting parts was also set to be equal to the pitch l1 . However, in this display device, since the light emitting diode arrays 1 are alternately shifted in the width direction, the display dots cannot be made into one straight row line in the strict sense, and the width of the display device is large, and the dots must be arranged at the same pitch. The disadvantage was that the position adjustment was complicated.

にある。 The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional display device, and to make the pitch of all the display dots of the display device uniform without increasing the width and without requiring labor for positioning. The object of the present invention is to provide a display device with high pitch accuracy.

The length of the gently sloped portion is shorter than the length of the display element array, the depth of the vertical portion is larger than the thickness of the display element array, and the display element is formed in the gently sloped portion. A minute light emitting section is provided on a portion of the substrate on which the array is placed and excluding a portion of the substrate where the display element array is installed, and these electrode patterns and the minute light emitting section are connected by lead wires.

In the drawings, a display device 10 includes a substrate (for example, an aluminum substrate), a plurality of light emitting diode arrays (display element arrays) 12 arranged in series on the central surface of this substrate 11, and a hollow portion 15, and has a hollow portion 15, and a hollow portion 15 for emitting light. The substrate 11 except for the installation area of the diode array 12

Gently inclined portions 16 are provided corresponding to the number of light emitting diode arrays 12.
A light emitting diode array 12 is mounted and fixed on each of the panels. Further, the depth of the vertical portion 17 is selected to be large relative to the thickness of the light emitting diode array 12. For example, the thickness of a light emitting diode array
If it is 250 μm, approximately 350 μm is selected.
Furthermore, the length of the gently sloped portion 16 is selected to be slightly shorter than the length of the light emitting diode array 12. Therefore, the ends of the adjacent light emitting diode arrays 12 are joined to each other in a vertically overlapping manner, so that the length of the gently sloped portion 16 is determined by the length of the light emitting diode array 12.
By selecting how much to shorten the length of the array 12, the pitch l11 of the light emitting diode array 12 considering the gentle slope and the micro light emitting portions 14 at both ends of the adjacent light emitting diode array 12 can be adjusted.
The distance l12 between them can be made equal. That is, the pitches of all the minute light emitting sections 14 when viewed from the top surface of the display device 10 can be made equal.

アレイ配設時の面倒な位置合わせが不要である。 As described above, according to the present invention, the substrate on which the light emitting diode array is mounted and fixed is formed to have a sawtooth cross-sectional shape consisting of a gently sloped part and a vertical part, and the depth of the vertical part is set to the depth of the display element array. This is because the display element array is placed in cascade by placing the display element array on the gently sloped part so that the display element array is larger than the thickness and the length of the gently sloped part is shorter than the length of the display element array.
By appropriately selecting the slope of the gently sloped portion, the length of the gently sloped portion, and the depth of the vertical portion, the dot pitch of the entire display device can be made uniform, and pitch accuracy can be ensured. Moreover, since the display element array can be arranged in rows strictly in a straight line, a display device with a small width can be obtained. Moreover, troublesome positioning is not required when arranging the display element array.
