Since the transparent glass 6 is flatly welded to the top plate part 3 of the lens cap, the welding strength is low, and the stress caused when welding the flange part 5 of the lens cap to the stem causes the transparent glass 6 to be welded to the top plate part 3. A transparent glass disc 60a is placed on the inner surface of the top plate 3 of the metal ring 1, and a pressing part 21 is provided on the periphery of the transparent glass disc 60a, and a pressing part 21 is provided at the center of the transparent glass disc 60a. It has a void space 22,
An upper die sealing jig 20 having a stepped portion 23 on the outside is placed and heated. At this time, the dimension g between the upper surface of the flange portion 5 and the lower surface of the stepped portion 23 of the upper die sealing jig 20 is set to be smaller than the thickness of the transparent glass disc 60a. Then, the transparent glass disk 60a is melted and pressed and shaped by the pressing part 21 of the upper mold sealing jig 20, and a part of the molten glass is pushed between the inner surface of the cylindrical part 2 and the outer surface of the pressing part 21. The glass flows into the metal ring 1 and is welded to the entire inner surface of the top plate portion 3 and a part of the inner surface of the cylindrical portion 2, and at the same time, both surfaces become convex due to the surface tension of the molten glass, as shown in Fig. 4. A lens cap with a lenticular transparent glass 60 is obtained.

A transparent glass disk is placed on the inner surface of the top plate portion,
By heating the peripheral edge of the transparent glass disk while pressing it with a jig, heat welding is possible, compared to the conventional method in which transparent glass is formed into a convex shape in a free state using only surface tension. The temperature can be controlled over a wide range, and a desired shape can be easily obtained on transparent glass. Further, in the lens cap manufactured according to the present invention, since the transparent glass is welded to the entire inner surface of the top plate portion of the metal ring and to a part of the inner surface of the cylindrical portion, the metal ring and the transparent glass are welded together. Not only does the area increase, but since the inner surface of the top plate part and the inner surface of the cylindrical part are welded at right angles to each other, the airtightness is high, and the welding strength between the metal ring and the transparent glass is also high, so the lens cap can be There is no possibility that the transparent glass will peel off from the metal ring or the airtightness will deteriorate when welding it to the stem.
