本発明は小型水冷エンジン等に補機として装着

め、
(1) 中子を設ける(第2図)、
(2) ウオーターポンプカバー等のような他の部品
との組合せで水通路3を形成する(第3図)、
…等の方法がとられているが、いずれもコストア
ツプにつながり、特に第3図の従来構造ではウオ
ーターポンプボデイ4とウオーターポンプカバー
5の間の合わせ面の面積が大きくなり、シール性
が低下しやすい。又水通路の吐水口2側への曲り
部に直角な角部6ができ、滑らかな流路が形成で
きない…等の欠点があつた。なお先行技術として

(発明の目的)
本発明は2面の金型のみでダイキヤスト製作が
できるようにすること、ウオーターポンプカバー
との合わせ面の面積を小さくしてシール性を向上
すること、吐水口近くの水通路曲り部を滑らかな
曲線にできるようにすること…等を目的としてい

(発明の構成)
本発明はポンプボデイに支持されたインペラー
を囲み前方に向い開いたインペラーハウジング部

後方へ向い開いた吐水口とインペラーハウジング
部から吐水口に至る水通路を持ち、インペラーハ
ウジング部と水通路の前面開口が吸水口付のカバ
ーで閉塞されるダイキヤスト製ウオーターポンプ
ボデイにおいて、前後ダイキヤスト金型の合わせ
面を吐水口のインペラーハウジング部寄り端部の
水通路横断面に前方へ行くにつれてインペラーよ
り離れるように傾斜して設け、吐水口の裏側に内
面が滑らかに湾曲した前壁を前記金型の合わせ面
に至るまで形成したことを特徴とするウオーター
ポンプのボデイである。吐水口の裏側に内面が吐
水口側へゆくにつれて後退するように滑らかな湾
曲が与えてあるため、インペラーハウジング部か
ら流出した水は吐水口側へ滑らかに湾曲した水通
路を経て、例えばエンジン本体内の冷却水通路へ

右側方においてインペラー10の開放方向とは逆
の後方へ向い開いた吐水口2と、インペラーハウ
ジング部1から吐水口2に至る水通路3を備えて
いることは従来と同様であるが、吐水口2の裏側
(前側)に内面11が吐水口2側へ行くにつれて
後退するように滑らかに湾曲した前壁12を一体
に備えているために、水通路3のインペラーハウ
ジング部1側半分は前方へ向い開き、吐水口2側
の半分は吐水口2の部分で後方へ向い開いた形に
なる。又前壁12があるためにウオーターポンプ
カバー5の吐水口2側への張出量が減り、これに
より小形になつたカバー5の外周部後面は環状シ
ール13を介してウオーターポンプボデイ4の受
座14に複数個のボルト(図示せず)により締着
されることになる。カバー5はインペラー10と
同心の吸水口15を有する。インペラー10はポ
ンプ軸16の前端部に固定され、ポンプ軸16は
ウオーターポンプボデイ4の軸受孔17に回転自
在に嵌合し、後端部に駆動ギヤ18を有する。1
9はオイルシール、20はメカニカルシールであ
る。ウオーターポンプボデイ4は段部21の部分
でエンジン本体の受座(図示せず)に複数個のボ
ルトで取付けられる。又吐水口2はエンジン本体
