Fruit trees such as apples and peaches, especially their young trees,
Trees are damaged by small animals such as wild rabbits and field mice during the snowy season, and countermeasures have become a major problem. Conventionally, the method of dealing with this problem has been to wrap a synthetic resin protective net around the trunk of the tree, but this protective net has to be removed in early spring, and the problem is that it takes a lot of time and effort to remove it.
This is hardly a practical method.

In view of these circumstances, the present inventors have devised a new method that uses metal lath made from ultra-thin steel plates as a protective material that is wrapped around tree trunks, etc., and utilizes the corrosion of the metal lath to save the effort of removing it. devised.

It is conceivable that within the required period, the product may have already corroded to the extent that it cannot withstand use.

ある。 In view of these points, the present invention has been developed based on the relationship between the corrosion rate of steel and the period during which tree protection is required, so that a reliable protective effect against small animals, etc. can be obtained during the period during which protection is required, and this effect can be maintained during the removal period. The present invention provides a metal lath coil for tree protection that is equipped with a metal lath for tree protection that can be easily removed, and that can be attached to trees safely and efficiently. A belt-shaped metal lath that is used by being wrapped around a tree around a portable bobbin that has a circular flange having a height that is greater than the winding thickness of the metal lath to be coiled, and after the necessary protection period has elapsed after being wrapped around the tree. The reason for this is that the metal lath for forest protection is wound into a coil with the thickness of the wire part being 30 to 85 μm so that it remains in a decayed state.

Further, the wrapped metal lath has a reliable protective effect against small animals and the like during the period when protection is required, and can be easily removed due to corrosion when it is time to remove it.

The tree protection system devised by the present inventors wraps such metal lath around trees to protect them from small wild animals mainly during the snowy period, and also utilizes the corrosion of steel to protect the rotten metal lath during the wrapping period. It is designed to be removed after a period of time has elapsed.

In such work, since both edges of the band-shaped metal lath A are covered by the collar 2 of the bobbin, it is appropriate to prevent the worker's hands from being injured by the side edges when wrapping it around the tree. Moreover, the worker can carry out the work simply by holding the coil in his hand and winding it around the tree, making the winding work itself more efficient.

In general, tree trunk protection is for hares and root protection is for field mice.
In the case of the drawing, it is wrapped to cover the roots at a depth of about 100 mm.

である。 As mentioned above, the present invention is based on a tree protection system that utilizes the decay of metal lath to save the effort of removing protective materials. requires such consideration. In other words, when implementing the above method, depending on the structure of the metal lath used, the degree of corrosion may not be sufficient even when it is time to remove it, making removal time-consuming, or conversely, it may be difficult to protect the lath. It is conceivable that within the required period, the product may have already corroded to the extent that it cannot withstand use. For this reason, after the metal lath is wrapped around a tree and the required protection period has elapsed (the period during which it must be protected from small wild animals, mainly during the snowfall period), it is in a rotten state, that is, it naturally collapses from the attachment point or is easily peeled off by workers. The ratio between the corrosion rate of the steel material constituting the metal lath (corrosion rate under usage conditions) and the thickness (length and width dimensions of the cross section) of the metal lath linear portion is selected so that the metal lath is in a decayed state to the extent that it can be damaged. For example, the period of time for installing protective materials on trees is generally about 5 to 6 months.
Based on the corrosion rate of the steel material during this period, the thickness of the metal lath linear portion is selected so that it will be in the above-mentioned rotten state at the time of removal work.

It was confirmed that the amount of corrosion (corrosion depth) was approximately in the range of 85 to 23 μm. Assuming such a corrosion rate, the protective function during the period when protection is required (especially during the snowy season) will not be impaired, and moreover, 5 to 6 months have passed since the protective material was installed, including the snowy season. In order to achieve a state of decay to the extent that it can naturally collapse or be easily peeled off by workers at a later point in time, the thickness of the linear portions 4 (D 1 and D 2 in FIG. 3) should be 30 to 30 mm. It is necessary to select within the range of 85μm. If the thickness of the linear portion is less than 30 μm, there is a risk that the metal lath will rot during the snowy season due to progression of corrosion and will naturally collapse from the trunk of the tree. On the other hand, as mentioned above, the upper limit of the amount of corrosion for 5 to 6 months in the usage environment of the present invention material is 85 μm, so if the thickness of the linear portion exceeds 85 μm, corrosion of the linear portion will occur. There is a possibility that the degree of deterioration is not sufficient, and it may not be possible to easily remove the snow during removal work after the snow has melted (for example, around April or May). Note that D 2 corresponds to the thickness of the material steel plate, and therefore, the thickness of the material steel plate of the metal lath is determined according to this value.

に近づかないようにする効果も大きい。 Further, as described above, the metal lath has a structure in which the linear portions are twisted, and due to this twist, the sharp cut edges of the linear portions partially face outward. Therefore, the protective function of metal lath against small animals is not only its physical shielding effect, but also the effect that the sharp linear parts described above can injure small animals that try to chew on trees and prevent small animals from approaching trees. It's also big.

大きい。 Furthermore, since the linear portions of the metal lath are twisted as described above, the linear portions tend to be drawn together when the metal lath surfaces are brought together. Therefore, when wrapping the tree around the tree, the metal lath itself has a temporary fixing effect, and this temporary fixing effect has a great effect in that the work at the time of wrapping can be carried out smoothly and efficiently.

According to the above-described metal lath coil for tree protection of the present invention, since both side edges of the coiled band-shaped metal lath are covered by the circular flange portion of the bobbin, the work can be done by the side edges when winding it around a tree. To efficiently carry out winding work without injuring the hands of workers, and in addition, the worker can carry out the work simply by holding the coil in his hand and winding the metal lath drawn out from the coil around the trunk, etc. Can be done. Additionally, the metal lath itself has an extremely thin structure, so it can be easily wrapped around tree trunks and branches. In addition, due to the structure of the linear parts, the wrapped metal lath can properly protect the tree from being bitten by small wild animals during periods when protection is required, such as during the snowy season, and when it is removed after the snow melts. It decays to the extent that it collapses naturally or can be easily peeled off by workers, and can significantly reduce the effort required to remove it compared to conventional protective materials.

果が得られる。 In addition, although the metal lath coil of the present invention is extremely thin and extremely easy to handle when wrapped around a tree as described above, it has a twisted structure unique to metal lath, so it has sharp wire parts. This has the effect of injuring small animals that try to chew on trees and preventing them from getting close to the trees. Combined with its physical shielding effect, this provides a great protective effect against small animals.

の大きな利点もある。 In addition, metal lath has the property that when the metal lath surfaces are brought together, the linear parts will stick to each other, so when wrapping it around a tree, the metal lath itself has a temporary fixing effect, and this temporary fixing effect makes the wrapping process smoother. It also has the great advantage of being efficient.
