Fruit trees such as apples and peaches, especially their young trees,
Trees are damaged by small animals such as wild rabbits and field mice during the snowy season, and countermeasures have become a major problem. Conventionally, the method of dealing with this problem has been to wrap a synthetic resin protective net around the trunk of the tree, but this protective net has to be removed in early spring, and the problem is that it takes a lot of time and effort to remove it.
This is hardly a practical method.

In view of these circumstances, the present inventors have devised a new method of using metal lath made from ultra-thin steel plates as a protective material that is wrapped around tree trunks, etc., and utilizing the corrosion of the metal lath to save the trouble of removing it. I devised it. Metal lath, which is made from ultra-thin steel sheets, can be easily wrapped around tree trunks and branches, and it not only has a protective effect through its physical shielding effect, but also has a structure unique to metal lath, that is, the twisting of each linear part. This provides excellent protection against small animals. However, when implementing such a method, depending on the structure of the metal lath used, the degree of corrosion may not be sufficient even when it is time to remove it, making removal time-consuming, or conversely, preventing protection. It is conceivable that the material may have already corroded to the extent that it cannot withstand use within the required period.

太さを30〜85μmとしたことにある。 In view of these points, the present invention has been developed based on the relationship between the rate of corrosion of steel and the period during which tree protection is required, so that a reliable protective effect against small animals, etc. can be obtained during the period during which protection is required, and furthermore, this can be achieved at the time of removal. This product provides a metal lath for tree protection that can be easily removed. The feature is that it is a metal lath that is used by wrapping it around a tree, so that it does not rot after the required period of protection has elapsed. The reason is that the thickness of the linear portion is 30 to 85 μm.

ある。 As shown in FIG. 1, metal lath is a thin steel plate with many parallel cuts and stretched into a rhombic net shape. The tree protection system devised by the present inventors is
This kind of metal lath is wrapped around a tree to protect it from small wild animals mainly during the snowy period, and the metal lath that has rotted during the installation period is removed after the necessary protection period has elapsed by taking advantage of the corrosion of the steel material. For this reason, in the present invention, after the metal lath is wrapped around a tree and the required protection period has passed (the period during which it must be protected from small animals in the wild, mainly during the snowfall period), the metal lath is placed in a rotten state, that is, it collapses naturally from the attachment point, or The ratio of the corrosion rate of the steel material constituting the metal lath (corrosion rate under usage conditions) to the thickness (length and width dimensions of the cross section) of the metal lath linear part so that it is in a state of decay to the extent that it can be easily peeled off by workers. Select. For example, protective materials are generally attached to trees for about 5 to 6 months, and due to the rate of corrosion of steel during this period, metal lath linear parts may be in a rotten state as described above at the time of removal. The thickness is selected.

ある。 The corrosion rate of steel (ordinary steel) differs depending on the environment in which it is placed, but when we specifically examined the environment in which the material of this invention is used, it was found that the corrosion rate of steel (common steel) differs depending on the environment in which it is placed. It was confirmed that the amount of corrosion (corrosion depth) was approximately in the range of 85 to 23 μm. Assuming such a corrosion rate, the protective function during the period when protection is required (especially during the snowy season) will not be impaired, and moreover, 5 to 6 months have passed since the protective material was installed, including the snowy season. In order to maintain the state of decay to the extent that it can naturally collapse or be easily peeled off by workers at a later point in time, the thickness of the linear portion 1 (D 1 and D 2 in FIG. 2) should be set as follows.
It is necessary to select within the range of 30 to 85 μm. If the thickness of the linear portion is less than 30 μm, there is a risk that the metal lath will rot during the snowy season due to progression of corrosion and will naturally collapse from the trunk of the tree. on the other hand,
As mentioned above, 5 to 5 in the usage environment of the present invention material
Since the upper limit of the amount of corrosion for 6 months is approximately 85 μm, if the thickness of the linear part exceeds 85 μm, the degree of corrosion to the linear part is not sufficient, and after the snow melts (for example, There is a risk that it will not be possible to easily remove it during removal work (around May).

Generally, the trunk of the tree is protected against wild rabbits, and the base of the tree is protected against field mice, and in the case of the drawing, the tree is wrapped to cover the base of the tree at a depth of about 100 mm.

Therefore, the protective function of metal lath against small animals is not only its physical shielding effect, but also the effect that the sharp linear parts described above can injure small animals that try to chew on trees and prevent small animals from approaching trees. It's also big.

大きい。 Furthermore, since the linear portions of the metal lath are twisted as described above, the linear portions tend to be drawn together when the metal lath surfaces are brought together. Therefore, when wrapping the tree around the tree, the metal lath itself has a temporary fixing effect, and this temporary fixing effect has a great effect in that the work at the time of wrapping can be carried out smoothly and efficiently.

According to the above-described metal lath for tree protection of the present invention, since it has an extremely thin structure, it can be easily wrapped around tree trunks and branches, and because of the structure of its linear parts, it is necessary for protection during snowy seasons, etc. During this period, trees can be properly protected from chewing by small wild animals, etc., and when removed after the snow has melted, they will naturally collapse or rot to the extent that they can be easily removed by workers. The effort required for removal can be significantly reduced.

It has the effect of injuring small animals that try to chew on trees and preventing them from getting close to the trees. Combined with its physical shielding effect, it provides a great protective effect against small animals.

の大きな利点もある。 In addition, metal lath has the property that when the metal lath surfaces are brought together, the linear parts will stick to each other, so when wrapping it around a tree, the metal lath itself has a temporary fixing effect, and this temporary fixing effect makes the wrapping process smoother. It also has the great advantage of being efficient.
