By applying this aldehyde to sericin fixation on raw silk fibers, it is possible to obtain raw silk fibers or products thereof with a desired amount of sericin stably fixed thereon.

Prior Art The formaldehyde method and glutaraldehyde method, which have been widely used as cellulose modifiers and protein tissue fixatives, have been used as relatively simple methods to fix sericin on raw silk fibers or their products. Crosslinking of these aldehydes is further promoted by heating and reacting them with raw silk fibers and the like. The present invention is also an application of this, and only slight effects were obtained with saturated aliphatic aldehydes.

Purpose of the invention A treatment method that fixes sericin in raw silk fibers or their products without discarding them, which can be a source of pollution in lakes and rivers, by immersion treatment in an aqueous solution containing 2-butenal (crotonaldehyde). The present invention provides a method for modifying raw silk fibers or products thereof by fixing sericin on the fibers, which is characterized by insolubilizing and fixing sericin on the fibers.

Structure of the invention In other words, 2-butenal (crotonaldehyde) is a liquid compound represented by CH 3 CH = CHCHO, and is used for refining mineral oil, manufacturing resin, antioxidant for rubber, insecticide, etc. . The present invention is a modification by sericin fixation in which an appropriate amount of sericin is insolubilized and fixed on raw silk fibers or products thereof by soaking the raw silk or silk products in an aqueous solution containing 2-butenal (crotonaldehyde). It is thought that the double bond in crotonaldehyde is involved in the sericin fixation reaction.

After adjusting the concentration of 2-butenal (crotonaldehyde) to 3% of this bath ratio and immersing it at room temperature for 4 hours, it was washed twice with acetone at room temperature, washed lightly with distilled water, then wrung out and dried at room temperature. Then, it was further dried again in a desiccator.
