まう危険を有している。 Our country is said to be responsible for 10% of the world's earthquakes, so everyone knows how terrifying earthquakes are, but countermeasures are extremely lenient from the policy level to the individual level. If a large-scale earthquake were to occur, mountains and cliffs would crumble, tsunamis would easily cross breakwaters, flooding would occur, brick walls would fall, all large furniture in homes would topple over, and so on, resulting in an extremely serious situation. There is a risk of causing panic.

事になつたという事件も発生している。 Furthermore, although there are a considerable number of these disasters that can be prevented at the individual level, one of them is the overturning of large furniture, which should be considered as an earthquake countermeasure, as well as the fall of children playing on the drawers of a chest of drawers. There have been a number of accidents in which people have fallen over and become trapped under the furniture, resulting in injuries, and there have also been incidents where furniture has fallen over and knocked over stoves, causing fires.

なことであつた。 Traditionally, large furniture has been fixed to walls and ceilings with strings or fasteners to prevent it from falling over, but since these methods require the use of nails, expensive furniture and It is difficult to actively do this as it will damage walls and ceilings, and in the unlikely event that furniture begins to topple over due to children's play or an earthquake, the initial vibration will cause damage. If it came off or broke, it would be completely meaningless, and if the preventer itself had to be removed due to moving furniture, etc., it would be a hassle to remove the nails.

By law, it was likely to be difficult to fix.

He invented a device to prevent furniture from falling over.

As is clear from the figure, the furniture 2 will not fall to the left because the wall 1 is on its left side. In addition, furniture such as chests of drawers that are generally installed near walls are often long and narrow along the wall, so the risk of falling is towards the right side of the diagram, in other words, clockwise. I can say that.

It consists of a support 5 that is slightly longer than the distance from It is performed at an angle.

る。 The anti-fall device 3 is fixed to the upper surface of the furniture 2 by a fixing device 6 at its lower part, and the length of the support 5 is slightly longer than the distance between the upper surface of the furniture 2 and the ceiling 4 and is inclined to the right. Therefore, the force caused by the overturning of the furniture 2 is initially applied to the support 5 in the direction of its inclination. This pressing force is divided into a force that causes the support end 51 to slide to the right against the frictional force with the ceiling surface, and a force that presses the ceiling 4, and the magnitude of both is determined by the slope of the support 5. The closer the angle is to the vertical, the smaller the force is on the support end 51 to the right, so it is less likely that it will actually slip, and in the end, the support 5 will move against the furniture 2 in the opposite direction to the falling direction. It rotates in the counterclockwise direction and presses against the ceiling 4.

止まつてしまうことになる。 This pressing continues until the support 5 becomes perpendicular to the ceiling surface, but the length of the support 5 itself is longer than the distance between the top surface of the furniture 2 and the ceiling 4 before the furniture 2 falls, and Considering that the distance is getting smaller and that there is a limit to the deflection of the ceiling and the top of the furniture, it is unlikely that the support 5 will continue to be perpendicular to the ceiling, and it will probably fall over (furniture). It will stop at the very early stage of rotation 2).

Since the body 5 is also inclined in the opposite direction to the counterclockwise rotation, the end 51 will slide on the ceiling surface and return to its original position without pressing the ceiling surface.

る。 This device is especially effective in cases where the force that causes the furniture to fall (rotation of the furniture 2) is applied and released in small increments, such as vibrations caused by an earthquake. In other words, the fall prevention device 3 normally covers the ceiling 4 as well as the furniture 2.
Since the prevention force is activated only when the furniture starts to fall (rotation of the furniture 2) because the furniture 2 is not pressed too hard, even if the support 5 oscillates at a slight angle, the tools will not shift. It is hard to imagine that the effect would be reduced. for,
With conventional fall prevention using nails and fasteners, vibration means a decline in effectiveness, and if the furniture vibrates, it will never strengthen naturally and you will immediately worry about nails falling out. It is something that must be done. Such conventional fall prevention methods are extremely inferior as earthquake countermeasures.

Also, as shown in FIG. 1, there is a need for something that is tilted not only in one direction but also in the opposite direction. The principle of fall prevention is the same as the explanation given in accordance with FIG.

It would be sufficient to fix .... Then, if furniture 2... begins to rotate to the right, the fall prevention device 3 on the right side will stop both pieces of furniture 2... from rotating, and conversely, if furniture 2... starts to rotate to the left, the fall prevention device 3 on the left side will stop the rotation of both pieces of furniture 2... 3 will stop the rotation of furniture 2... on both sides.

It states that it is sufficient if the slope is only in one direction, and that it is necessary to slope in two directions. It is of course possible to install fall prevention devices with two types of inclinations, such as the above, or more than two types.

This is an example. The support body 5 and the fixture 6 are rotatably connected by a support pin. Also,
The spring 8 is adapted to press the support 5 against the ceiling surface during installation. A rubber member is attached to the end 51 of the support 5 for the purpose of preventing slipping.

However, if the furniture is brought too close to the vertical plane, the support body 5 will exceed the vertical plane as soon as the furniture starts rotating, and the effect of preventing the furniture from falling will be lost. Therefore, the end 51 of the support 5 must be installed at an angle that will not cause it to slip and the length of the support 5 will be as long as possible.

を支持体5に対して可回転にしてもよい。 In experiments conducted by the present inventor, the best effect was obtained when the support 5 was tilted at an angle of about 30 degrees with respect to the vertical. It is configured to be horizontal and close to the ceiling surface. Alternatively, this anti-slip member may be made rotatable relative to the support body 5.

Rather than being fixed as shown in this figure, it may be one whose length can be changed freely (however, the length after changing does not change even if pressed). For example, if the end 51 shown in FIG. 5 is set to an appropriate length to slide inside the pipe, the retaining pin
Possible options include something that can be fixed with.

ない。 Next, the furniture 2 of the fall prevention device 3 used in the present invention
Fixing to the top surface will be briefly described. (Fig. 7) In general, the upper surface of the furniture 2 does not need to be very strong in terms of strength, so it may be made of relatively weak plywood or the like. Therefore, in order to reinforce the upper surface of furniture 2, which is easy to bend and weak,
In order to enhance the effect of fixing the fall prevention device 3 itself, it is better to install the fixing plate 10 with a length sufficient to the length of the upper surface of the furniture 2 in the width direction. Furthermore, if the shape of the fixing plate 10 is devised, for example, by making it into a rail shape so that the optimal position is obtained while sliding the fall prevention device 3, the upper surface of the furniture 2 may be damaged each time the fall prevention device 3 is removed. There will be no need to worry. However, these are additional matters to the present invention and do not limit the present invention.

Incline (e.g. about 30 degrees)
By fixing the furniture in place, if the furniture is about to topple over, the support will press against the ceiling to prevent it from falling over.Usually, the end of the support only lightly presses against the ceiling. Therefore, it is easy to move furniture, it does not damage the ceiling, and if it tries to fall, it will definitely prevent it from falling, so it is very useful as an earthquake countermeasure and to prevent accidents caused by children's play. This is a useful invention.
