Conventional technology Conventionally, when manufacturing a headrest for an automobile seat, a headrest cover is blow-molded from a parison, and during the blow-molding, one shaft end of a stay is inserted into the parison in advance, and the blow-molding is performed. The stay is fixed at the pad by molding the pad part by foaming and curing the foam material that will later be filled into the head rest cover, and the head rest cover and pad part are integrally molded to form a head rest with the stay protruding. things are being done.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention By applying this headrest manufacturing method, a foam material is formed inside the headrest cover, which is integrally molded into a hollow shape with a pouch-shaped rising portion having a substantially rectangular cross section continuous from the cover main body. When integrally molding the patch portion by filling it with foam material, it is inevitable that the foam material will not sufficiently reach the corners of the narrow space forming the tip end surface of the rising portion, resulting in a cavity.

Means for Solving the Problems In the method for manufacturing a headrest according to the present invention, the headrest cover is integrally molded into a hollow pouch-like rising portion with a substantially rectangular cross section that is continuous from the cover main body. One shaft side of the stay, which protrudes outward from the tip end surface, is inserted inside and assembled, and the inside of this headrest cover is filled with foam material in the cavity space of the mold, so that the part part is foamed integrally. When forming, a baffle plate is fitted on the axis of the stay at a position near the inside of the rising part facing the inner surface of the tip face across a gap, and the baffle plate forms the tip face of the rising part. The foaming flow of the foam material is moved and guided in the direction of the corner where the part is formed, and the part is foam-molded to the corner of the rising part, and the baffle plate is embedded and installed inside the part as a support for the stay. .

Function: In this method of manufacturing a headrest, a baffle plate is placed at a position close to the inside of the rising part facing the inner surface of the tip face across a gap. By forcibly feeding the resin flow of the foam material into the portion, it is possible to reliably prevent the formation of a hollow portion. This baffle plate is installed by fitting it onto the axis of the stay that protrudes outward from the rising part, so it can be easily assembled without much effort, and the installation state can be seen on the surface of the rising part. do not have. Furthermore, since this baffle plate is embedded inside the pad part to support the stay, it is possible to stably project the stay outward from the rising part.

In the illustrated embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, a substantially horseshoe-shaped head rest having a gap in the center portion is manufactured as a head rest for an automobile seat. This headrest has a rising portion A with a substantially rectangular cross section from which the stay S protrudes, and as shown in FIG. 2, a gap portion where the pad portion P does not exist is likely to be formed at the corner portion a forming the tip end surface. Therefore, at the rising part A, the rectangular baffle plate B
is fitted onto the axis of the stay S, and this baffle plate B
The foaming flow of the foam material, which will be described later, is forcibly guided to move toward the corner.

As the baffle plate B, a hard or semi-hard resin plate or a metal plate can be used, or a porous plate material that allows the foam material to pass through and guide the movement. In forming the headrest, the parison is blow-molded to form the headrest cover C, and then the pad portion P can be formed by filling the inside with a foam material and foaming and hardening.

When applying blow molding, first extrude the parison from the die head into a cylindrical shape with the lower end open.
The headrest cover C is molded by inserting it into a mold and blowing compressed air into the inside.
At this time, the shaft end side of the stay S with the baffle plate B attached thereto is previously inserted into the cavity of the mold in the parison, thereby forming a head rest cover C in which the baffle plate B is housed. The baffle plate B accommodated in the cover C is narrower by about 3 to 5 mm than the cross-sectional area of the rising portion A of the headrest, and a porous plate having approximately the same area can be used.
Further, this baffle plate B is attached on the axis of the stay S at a position in the vicinity of the inside of the rising portion A, facing the inner surface of the tip face with a gap therebetween. The inside of the headrest cover C is filled with a foam material through an opening formed in a portion thereof, and the pad portion P is foam-molded in the same process. The foam material gradually increases in volume as the urethane stock solution foams, but when it gets close to the baffle plate B, as shown in Figure 3, it rapidly increases in the direction of the corner of the rising part A by bypassing the baffle plate B. Or, in the case of a porous baffle plate B, it passes through the plate material and moves in the direction of the corner of the rising portion A within the gap. At this time, the foaming gas can be discharged from the gap between the stay S and the head rest cover C, and
A gas vent groove may be formed on the axis of the stay S, or the gas may be discharged from a gas vent hole formed in a substantially central portion of the headrest cover C.

In this way, by forcibly moving the foaming flow of the foam material toward the corner of the rising part A along the baffle plate B and curing it, it is possible to form a patch part P without any missing parts such as hollow parts. can. Also, baffle board B
As a support for the stay S, it can be embedded and fixed with the pad part P, so the stay S can be stably projected and installed.

Note that the baffle plate B may be installed and arranged in advance when the headrest cover C is molded as described above, but it can also be installed on the stay S after the headrest cover C is molded.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the method for manufacturing a headrest according to the present invention, even the corner of the rising part can be filled by rapidly moving and guiding the foam flow of the foam material to the gap part using the baffle plate. In addition, since the baffle plate can be embedded and fixed inside the pad part as a support plate for the stay, the stay can be stably projected and mounted.
