In this method, a rubber ring 3 is fitted onto one end of the object W to be coated. A cylindrical cap 4 is fitted to the outside of this ring 3 so as to cover one end of the object W, thereby masking the non-coated portion A of the object W. After masking in this way, the object to be coated W is placed on the pedestal 1, and by operating the hanger 2 attached to the pedestal 1, the paint liquid L stored in a container (not shown) is removed. The object W to be coated is soaked in the tank, and only the coating area B of the object W is coated.

As a result, the paint L is applied to a predetermined area. The masking agent 5 is peeled off after painting, but since this method requires an organic solvent-based masking agent 5 to mask the non-painted area A, an exhaust system must be installed due to the work environment. . Moreover, the work of peeling off the masking agent 5 is required, which impairs the efficiency of the painting work.

This is a dip coating method comprising the step of immersing the object to be coated together with the covering member in a liquid in a state where it is positioned above.

As shown in FIG. 3B, a cup-shaped cover member 6 is placed on the non-coated area A located at the upper end of the cover member 6, and an air pocket 7 communicating with the outside is formed within the cover member 6.

At the same time, it is immersed in the paint liquid L while being positioned above. During this dobuzuke process,
Since the air in the air pocket 7 does not escape, the paint liquid L cannot enter therein. The weight of the cover member is set to such a value that the cover member 6 does not float due to the buoyant force within the air pocket 7.

Incidentally, after the cover member 6 is placed on the object W to be coated, the object W to be coated may be supported on the pedestal 1.

Since the dip coating method includes a soaking process, masking of the desired area can be performed simply by placing the covering member on the non-painted area, making it possible to significantly shorten the time required for masking. . Moreover, there is no need to use an organic solvent as in the conventional method, and therefore no exhaust device is required.
