前記周壁の下端を嵌合させ、さらに、この周溝内に吸水
性部材を混入したシール部材を配して前記ベースカバー
と周壁を水蜜的に結合したものである。この構成によ
り、吸水性部材がタンク内の水により周溝内で吸水膨張
するため、ベースカバーとケース部材が熱によって相互
に異なる形状に変化し、その結合部が離合してもシール
部材を周壁の両側面に押圧して密着性を高めることがで
きるようになるのである。

吸水性部材を混入したシール部材を配して前記ベースカ
バーと周壁を水蜜的に結合したことにより、ベース部か
ら伝達される熱でタンクを構成するベースカバーとケー
ス部材が膨張収縮して相互に異なる形状に変化しても、
周溝によりケース部材を所定の変化量に規制することが
できるとともに、吸水性部材を有したシール部材により
両者間に隙間が発生するのを防止することができる。ま
た、アイロンがけにより把手兼用のケース部材が作業者
によって強く押圧されたり、作業中の小休止時に把手兼
用のケース部材の後部を下にして設置する動作が繰返さ
れる等、アイロン特有の外力に対してもシール結合状態
