成されており、この温度コントローラ2には、上述のよ
うに電気カーペット本体1の少なくとも敷物表面が被覆
層にて塞がれた状態における敷物の表面温度(パイルP
の先端温度)が一定時間だけ害虫駆除温度(45±5℃)
になるように発熱体1aによる発熱動作を制御する害虫駆
除制御手段4が設けられている。ここに、害虫駆除制御
手段4は、害虫駆除時にオンされるダニ駆除スイッチ15
と、害虫駆除時の温度設定を高温側に変更する温度設定
変更回路16と、害虫駆除制御手段4の動作時間を設定す
るタイマー回路17とで形成されている。なお、温度コン

付加することなく電気カーペット本体の敷物の表面温度
を害虫駆除温度にまで容易に昇温させ、電気カーペット
本体の敷物の表面の害虫を駆除することができるもので
あり、通常の暖房使用時に低温やけどをしたり過熱によ
る火災が発生したりするおそれなく安全に使用すること
ができると共に、しかも害虫悲透過性を有する被覆層で
害虫の逃げ場を無くして、害虫を確実に駆除することが
