Description: TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a polishing belt used for polishing a metal surface or the like, and in particular, an abrasive material such as abrasive grains is adhered to the surface of a paper base paper and is rotated. The present invention relates to a polishing belt which is stretched endlessly between a pair of driven rolls, and is brought into pressure contact with an object to be polished during the circulation drive to perform polishing.

あった。
(Prior Art) In such a polishing operation, generally, a polishing aid, which is an oily liquid, is sprayed on the contact portion between the polishing belt and the object to be polished in order to cool the object to be removed and to remove polishing debris. Therefore, there is a problem that a slip occurs between the polishing belt and the roll that circulates the polishing belt to cause the belt to break.

このため、従来、例えば実願昭57−115216号(実開昭

For this reason, in the past, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application No.
No. 59-19261), as in the first embodiment of the invention disclosed in the invention, on the back surface of the base cloth paper (the surface on the side in contact with the roll),
Using an uneven patterning roll or the like, the unevenness of the thick and thin portions of the base cloth paper is formed in a pattern, thereby achieving an effect of oil film adhesion between the base cloth paper and the roll, or the above-mentioned invention. As in the second example, the entire back surface of the base cloth paper is covered with a layer of mineral powder particles having an adhesive as a binder,
There is one in which the upper surface of the mineral powder layer is made uneven.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the above-mentioned first embodiment, since the tensile strength is lowered in the thin portion of the base cloth paper, the polishing belt is easily broken during the polishing work, and The problem of insufficient frictional resistance between the cloth and the roll remains, and the second embodiment also has the following problem.

That is, the water absorbed and retained in the base fabric paper is evaporated by the heat of polishing generated during the polishing operation. Since this dehumidification process is forcedly performed by the heat of polishing, it cannot be prevented by the front surface of the base cloth paper, the abrasive layer covering the back surface, and the mineral powder layer. As a result of such dehumidification, the base paper loses its flexibility and is easily broken. Note that, during the polishing operation, the base cloth paper is infiltrated with an oil-based polishing aid, but since the base cloth paper is not lipophilic due to its material, flexibility is not obtained depending on the polishing aid. Then, when the polishing operation is interrupted, the base cloth paper absorbs moisture in the atmosphere to recover its flexibility and withstand reuse, but this moisture absorption process is natural when the polishing belt is left standing. However, unlike the above dehumidifying process, the size of the exposed area of the base cloth paper in the atmosphere is an important factor. However, in the second embodiment, since the front and back surfaces of the base cloth are not exposed and are covered with the adherend layer, the moisture absorption process does not proceed slowly, so that the base cloth is sufficiently It was reused before the flexibility was restored, and the polishing belt was easily broken. In addition, the method of forcibly absorbing the moisture of the dehumidified base fabric paper, for example, the method of removing water from the base fabric paper or immersing the base fabric paper in water, is the amount of water supplied excessively. Cannot be used because it dissolves the binder of the abrasive.

(Means for Solving the Problem) In order to solve this problem, the polishing belt of the present invention comprises:
On the back side of the belt base paper with the abrasive attached to the surface, a friction material having a larger friction resistance than the belt base paper and good adhesion of the belt base paper, in an area ratio of 10 to 40%. It is characterized in that the belt base paper is adhered in a polka dot pattern, and the portion of the back surface of the belt base paper on which the friction material is not adhered is exposed to absorb moisture.

(Operation) According to the polishing belt of the present invention, since the friction material applied in a polka dot pattern exhibits a strong frictional resistance to the roll, slip between the roll and the polishing belt is prevented.

In addition, since the belt base paper is exposed except for the friction material adhered portion of the back side of the belt base paper, moisture in the atmosphere is sufficiently absorbed from this portion during the interruption period of the polishing work, and the belt base paper is not exposed. Paper quickly regains flexibility.

In the above configuration, the binder 3 is an oil resistant adhesive such as glue, and the friction material 5 is an oil resistant material having a larger friction resistance than the belt base paper and good adhesion to the belt base paper, for example, It is a rubber latex such as a nitrile latex, an acrylic latex, or a vinyl acetate latex. The friction material 5 is adhered to the back surface of the belt base paper 2 by a method such as gravure printing, screen printing, or letterpress printing, but the application method is not limited to this.
