We contracted CLM as our external accountant to provide and take care of all required forms by the Brazil law. 

They prepare all the tax, legal and human resources informations needed to comply and submit to the government, as well as the financial and accounting numbers and structures so we can better see our company

Understanding and viewing our P&L from different angles generate value for our company because this way we can take actions in advance to improve cost reduction and get our margins higher. 

Having CLM as our external accountant also minimize the need for internal employees that would be required to make this good job. The knowledge they have fits our necessity in all crucial areas of the business, helping us to make decisions we would not be able to see and understanding alone.

They use to deliver us in the way we ask them for. The time to deliver is fast because I think they have a big team so different persons can help us in real time if someone is busy.

The quality of the services and the knowledge of Brazilian law, they have a lot of experience with different matters and cases so they have a solution for all our needs in practice.

I believe there's nothing I would need anymore, gratefully I didn't have any bad times with them during this relationship.

I am a software developer. I have set up a company set up in Brazil. My primary client is in Ireland. My company invoices them based on a daily rate for any work I do for them.

For what projects/services did your company hire CLM Controller?

I hired CLM for the set up of my company in Brazil, as well as the continued accountancy services they provide such as invoicing my clients, paying any and all required taxes and support on queries I have as regards the financial end of my business.

What were your goals for this engagement?

My goal was to simplify the process of setting up a company in Brazil. I also was eager to have professionals handle the companies taxes (annual and per invoice) as I have no knowledge in that area.

I found CLM controller here on clutch. I noticed they had strong reviews so reached out and from then on they have been superb.

Describe the engagement in detail.

While in Ireland preparing to move to Brazil, I enquired as to what services they offer. I received an email asking if I would be free to take a call so they could introduce themselves and talk a little about their company. Over the following weeks I spoke primarily with a Managing Partner named Renato about the set up of my company.

He made it clear that CLM would be able to handle the set up as well as the ongoing accounting services I required (paying taxes, generating invoices etc). He provided me with a list of all the documents I will need through email and gave me a phone number so I could also reach out through WhatsApp anytime.

I got the required documents together over a couple of weeks, scanned them and sent them to him from Ireland. When I got to Brazil I got the remainder of the required documents (of course as well as a valid working visa) and mailed them to CLM.

There is a monthly fee for the services, as well as one yearly fee. (13 payments a year) There was also a separate fee for the set up of my company in Brazil.

What was the team composition?

Initially I spoke mostly with one or two people, though as I progressed with CLM more people were made available to me.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

My process was a little bit stunted by the fact that I was moving countries and there were elements to the move that had to be dealt with before I could continue, such as attaining a visa. Once they were done CLM had my company set up within 30 days as promised.

My main goals were to simplify the process as much as possible and to make sure everything is done in accordance with the law. CLM absolutely helped me achieve those goals. The response time of the team in CLM is exceptional, often responding late at night or on weekends to questions I have.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As previously mentioned, CLM's level of communication have far exceeded my expectations. There is rarely a delay in getting a response to my queries and any instructions/explanations I receive are always clear and easy to understand.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What I found most impressive was how clearly the team communicates and how easily they understood what I was looking for. Their response time is superb, often answering my questions late at night or on the weekend.

I consider it a privilege to live and work in Brazil. With that in mind I was eager to pay all taxes required of me and to be respectful of the law here. I found CLM understood this perfectly and it is very comforting to know that I can rely on them to achieve that goal while keeping my best interests in mind.

As of yet there have been no problems.

During this period we never had any problems with the tax authorities. CLM has always been open and competent to help me with all the doubts that I have related to my company from a tax, fiscal, accounting and payroll point of view.
