Blanc, and eider down, fit only for bedding for cherubim and seraphim.

Polish coastal labor cooperatives have begun tanning codskin for use in the production of women's footwear. Tanned codskin is said to be similar to ordinary animal skin in texture and has the appearance of lizard skin. Experiments also are being made in using the skin of sea catfish in producing fancy goods such as handbags and portfolios. Similar experiments in other European countries during the war years were not commercially successful.
