Abstract

interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure to an entrance to the airways of a patient, comprising a positioning and stabilising structure to maintain a seal-forming structure in contact with the patient's face; the structure including a pair of rigidizer arms connected to respective sides of a plenum chamber, each rigidizer arm being surrounded by a respective rigidizer arm cover (3310) to cushion the patient’s face against the rigidizer arm; a pair of side straps (3301) configured to extend along respective sides of the patient’s face between the patient’s eye and ear when the patient interface is worn. Each side strap is connected to an end portion of a corresponding one of the rigidizer arm covers such that, in use, the corresponding rigidizer arm does not extend along a portion of the patient’s face between the patient’s eye and ear; a posterior portion connected to the side straps and including a crown strap (3307) and a rear strap (3305), wherein each of the rigidizer arm covers, the side straps, the crown strap and the rear strap comprises a textile material, wherein the side straps comprise a different textile material than the crown strap and/or the rear strap, and wherein the side straps have increased stretchability as compared to the crown strap and/or the rear strap. The disclosed positioning and stabilising structure acts to cushion the patient's face against rigidiser arms that aid with sealed delivery of air, thus providing enhanced comfort.
