Abstract
258,573. Withycombe, R. M. Sept. 18, 1925, [Convention date]. Coating processes. - A method of providing metal, wood, &c. surfaces with a rubber coating comprises applying a rubber solution, (preferably in benzol) with or without sulphur, to which is added 5-10 per cent or more of asphaltum of other like heavy hydrocarbon, and then subjecting the whole to a dry heat of 250‹-500‹ F. Slow heating produces a smooth surface; rapid, a matt one.
