Description

This disclosure relates to entrance doors.

Conventionally, doors have been known that are provided with plastic cap members to protect the lower corners of the door body on the hinged side (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

To improve the design of entrance doors, decorative paneling may be installed on the exterior side of the door body. To hold the decorative paneling to the door body, edge members that cover and hold the upper and lower ends of the decorative paneling are attached to the door body. Because the edge members are made of metal, it is desirable to extend cap members to the exterior side to cover the end faces of the upper and lower edge members so that they are not exposed, in order to prevent damage from contact, etc.

However, because the cap members are made of resin, if a load is applied to the cap members, for example by stepping on them, in the direction outward in the door height direction during door transport or door assembly, that is, upward in the case of the upper cap member, or downward in the case of the lower cap member, the extended portion of the cap member may bend and deform, exposing the end face of the retaining member.

Therefore, the inventors have come up with a problem of providing a front door that can suppress the bending deformation of the cap member when a load is applied to the cap member.

The entrance door according to the present disclosure comprises a door body that is openably and closably fitted inside a door frame that is provided in an opening in a building structure, a decorative surface material that is provided on the exterior side of the door body, edge members that are provided on the upper and lower sides of the door body and that hold the decorative surface material, and cap members that are provided on the upper and lower corners of the door body on the hinge side, the cap members having a cap member body that is attached to the door body, an extension that extends from the cap member body to the exterior side by a distance equal to the thickness of the decorative surface material, and a locking portion that is provided on the extension and locks to the edge member from the inside in the door height direction.

Embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the entrance door 1 is installed inside a metal door frame 2 provided in a vertically elongated rectangular opening 101 in a building framework 100, and is capable of being opened and closed in both indoor and outdoor directions.

The door frame 2 is formed from a metal profile and is attached along the inner periphery of the opening 101. In detail, the door frame 2 is framed in a rectangular shape by an upper door frame 21 that extends horizontally around the upper inner periphery of the opening 101, a lower door frame 22 that extends horizontally around the lower inner periphery of the opening 101, and a leading-side vertical door frame 23 and a hanging-side vertical door frame 24 that extend vertically around the left and right inner periphery of the opening 101. The upper door frame 21, leading-side vertical door frame 23, and hanging-side vertical door frame 24 are each formed in a hollow rectangular shape.

Ceramic exterior tiles 200 are attached to the exterior surface around the opening 101 of the building structure 100 using an adhesive or the like. The exterior tiles 200 are installed to cover the exterior sides 21a, 23a, and 24a of the upper door frame 21, the end-side vertical door frame 23, and the hanging-side vertical door frame 24, respectively, and are located close to the front door 1. Figure 1 shows the front door 1 as seen from the outside.

The directions in each figure are defined below. The X1-X2 direction indicates the indoor/outdoor direction of the front door 1. X1 indicates the outdoor side of the front door 1, and X2 indicates the indoor side of the front door 1. The X1-X2 direction is also the front view direction of the front door 1. The Y1-Y2 direction indicates the lateral direction of the front door 1. The Y1-Y2 direction is also the front view direction of the front door 1. The Z1-Z2 direction indicates the height direction of the front door 1, with the Z1 direction being upward and the Z2 direction being downward.

The entrance door 1 has a door body 3 that is housed inside the door frame 2, and a decorative surface material 4 that is provided on the exterior side of the door body 3. The door body 3 is attached to the vertical door frame 24 on the hanging side by a hinge 35 so that it can be opened and closed.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the door body 3 has a core material 31 that is framed in a rectangular shape around the four periphery of the door body 3, a metal exterior panel portion 32 that is provided on the exterior side of the core material 31, a metal interior panel portion 33 that is provided on the interior side of the core material 31, and a heat insulating material 34 that is provided in the space surrounded by the core material 31, the exterior panel portion 32, and the interior panel portion 33.

The core material 31 in this embodiment is composed of a metal core material 311 and a resin core material 312 that is arranged to cover the outer periphery of the metal core material 311.

As shown in Figures 4 to 7, the metal core material 311 is composed of an upper metal core material 311a extending horizontally from the upper end of the door body 3, a lower metal core material 311b extending horizontally from the lower end of the door body 3, a door end metal core material 311c extending vertically from the door end side end of the door body 3, and a hanging base metal core material 311d extending vertically from the hanging base side end of the door body 3. These metal core materials 311a, 311b, 311c, and 311d are all formed in a U-shape and are framed in a rectangle so that the outer periphery forms a flat prospective surface.

4, 5 and 7, the resin core 312 is composed of an upper resin core 312a extending laterally from the upper end of the door body 3, a lower resin core 312b extending laterally from the lower end of the door body 3, and a hanging base resin core 312d extending vertically from the hanging base end of the door body 3. The upper resin core 312a, the lower resin core 312b and the hanging base resin core 312d are all formed in a U-shape, and are in close contact with the outer surfaces of the upper metal core 311a, the lower metal core 311b and the hanging base metal core 311d, respectively, and are fixed to the metal cores 311a, 311b and 311d by mounting screws SC1, SC2 and SC4, respectively. As shown in FIG. 3, the hinge 35 is attached between the hanging resin core material 312d of the door body 3 and the hanging side vertical door frame 24 of the door frame 2.

The metal core 311c of the door body 3 does not have such a U-shaped resin core. Instead, as shown in Figures 3 and 6, resin cover materials 313a and 313b are attached individually to the exterior and interior sides of the metal core 311c of the door body 3.

In this way, the front door 1 has excellent insulation and moisture-proofing properties due to the insulation material 34, and also has insulation and moisture-proofing properties due to the resin core material 312 and resin cover materials 313a, 313b provided on the outer surface side of the metal core material 311 around the four sides of the door body 3, so it has even better insulation and moisture-proofing properties.

As shown in Figs. 1 to 7, the decorative surface material 4 has a size covering the entire surface of the exterior panel 32 that constitutes the exterior side of the door body 3, and is adhered to the surface of the exterior panel 32 by an adhesive layer 5. Specifically, the decorative surface material 4 of this embodiment is adhered via an adhesive layer 5 so as to extend from the upper end to the lower end of the exterior panel 32 of the door body 3. The adhesive layer 5 may be composed of an adhesive applied to at least one of the back surface of the decorative surface material 4 and the surface of the exterior panel 32, or may be composed of a double-sided adhesive tape. The decorative surface material 4 of this embodiment is composed of a single glass plate, ceramic or metal tile, etc., of a size that substantially covers the entire surface of the exterior side of the door body 3 from the upper end to the lower end. In particular, when the decorative surface material 4 is a ceramic tile, the high texture of the ceramic tile's surface can be easily imparted to the front door 1.

The decorative panel 4 is fixed to the door body 3 by being adhered to it by the adhesive layer 5. Therefore, there is no need to use a fixing part that penetrates the decorative panel 4 to fix the decorative panel 4. Moreover, since the texture of the surface of the front door 1 is expressed by the material of the decorative panel 4 itself, the front door 1 can easily be given a high design quality due to the texture of the decorative panel 4. Therefore, with this configuration of the front door 1, the design can be further improved. As shown in Figure 1, a handle 11 for opening and closing operations is provided on the surface of the decorative panel 4, which extends vertically in a long length.

The decorative surface material 4 of the front door 1 may be made of the same material as the exterior tiles 200 provided around the opening 101 of the building structure 100. This makes it easy to unify the design of the front door 1 and the building structure 100, further improving the design of the front door 1.

As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the upper and lower ends of the decorative panel 4 are provided with edge members 6 that cover the end faces 41a and 42a of the decorative panel 4 and hold the exterior side face 41b of the upper end of the decorative panel 4 and the exterior side face 42b of the lower end of the decorative panel 4, respectively. As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the door end side and hanging end side of the decorative panel 4 are provided with door end side edge members 7 and hanging end side edge members 8 that cover the end faces 43a and 44a of the decorative panel 4, respectively. These protect the end faces 41a, 42a, 43a, and 44a of the decorative panel 4, suppressing damage and improving the durability of the decorative panel 4.

The upper and lower edge members 6 have the same structure, except that they are symmetrical from top to bottom. As shown in Figures 2, 4, and 5, the edge member 6 is composed of a thin L-shaped metal fitting consisting of an attachment plate portion 61, an end surface covering portion 62, and a retaining portion 63. The edge member 6 extends over almost the entire width of the door body 3. In contrast, the width dimension of the decorative surface material 4 is slightly smaller than the width dimension of the edge member 6, as shown in Figures 6 and 7. Therefore, the end of the edge member 6 on the hanging side protrudes outward from the end surface 44a on the hanging side of the decorative surface material 4, specifically, the hanging side edge member 8 that covers the end surface 44a, as shown in Figure 12.

The mounting plate portion 61 is formed as a thin plate extending in the front direction (X1-X2 direction) of the door body 3. The length of the mounting plate portion 61 in the front direction of the door body 3 is approximately half the thickness of the door body 3. The mounting plate portion 61 is provided over approximately half of the area on the exterior side in the front direction of the door body 3.

The end cover portion 62 extends flush from the mounting plate portion 61 toward the exterior side. The retaining plate 63 is formed integrally with the exterior side of the end cover portion 62 by bending the exterior end of the end cover portion 62 at approximately a right angle toward the interior side in the door height direction (Z1-Z2 direction). The interior side in the door height direction means the center side in the height direction of the door body 3. Therefore, in the case of the edge member 6 on the upper side of the door body 3, the interior side in the door height direction is the downward direction (Z2 direction), and in the case of the edge member 6 on the lower side of the door body 3, the interior side in the door height direction is the upward direction (Z1 direction). The exterior side in the door height direction is the opposite direction to the interior side.

The edge member 6 is attached to the upper and lower sides of the door body 3 by fixing the mounting plate portion 61 to the surfaces of the upper resin core material 312a and the lower resin core material 312b with mounting screws SC1 and SC2. At this time, the end surface cover portion 62 covers and protects the end surfaces 41a and 42a of the upper and lower ends of the decorative panel material 4. The retaining portion 63 abuts against the exterior sides 41b and 42b of the upper and lower ends of the decorative panel material 4, respectively, and engages and holds the upper and lower ends of the decorative panel material 4. In this way, the edge member 6 prevents the upper and lower ends of the decorative panel material 4 from peeling off.

As shown in Figures 3 and 6, the door end edge member 7 is made of a thin metal plate consisting of a surface abutment plate portion 71, an extension plate portion 72, a leg plate portion 73, and an attachment plate portion 74. The door end edge member 7 extends over almost the entire height of the door body 3.

The surface abutment plate portion 71 abuts against the leading edge surface of the decorative panel 4, specifically, the exterior side surface 43b of the leading edge end of the decorative panel 4. The extension plate portion 72 is integrally connected to the surface abutment plate portion 71 and extends flush with the surface abutment plate portion 71 toward the leading edge vertical door frame 23 so as to overlap the leading edge vertical door frame 23.

As shown in FIG. 3, the leading edge vertical door frame 23 has a step 23b recessed toward the interior at the corner of the exterior side surface 23a on the door body 3 side. The extension plate 72 extends from the surface abutment plate 71 toward the step 23b of the leading edge vertical door frame 23 and is housed within this step 23b. As a result, the extension plate 72 of the leading edge member 7 is positioned overlapping the leading edge vertical door frame 23. A sealing piece 721 protruding toward the interior is provided at the tip of the extension plate 72. The sealing piece 721 seals between the entrance door 1 and the leading edge vertical door frame 23 by abutting against the step 23b from the outside.

The leg plate portion 73 is integrally connected to the back surface of the surface abutment plate portion 71 and extends toward the inside of the room, covering the small end surface 43a on the door tip side of the decorative panel 4. The tip of the leg plate portion 73 abuts against the surface of the resin cover material 313a on the outside of the room.

The mounting plate portion 74 extends from the extension plate portion 72 toward the interior side in the front direction of the door body 3. The mounting plate portion 74 is fixed to the surface of the leading edge metal core material 311c, which is the leading edge side front surface of the door body 3, by the mounting screw SC3. In this way, the leading edge member 7 is fixed to the door body 3.

The door end edge member 7 is formed in a T-shape by the surface abutment plate portion 71, the extension plate portion 72, and the mounting plate portion 74. In addition to covering and protecting the small end surface 43a, the door end edge member 7 also has the function of engaging and holding the exterior surface 43b of the door end side end of the decorative surface material 4 by the surface abutment plate portion 71. Therefore, like the edge member 6, the door end edge member 7 prevents damage to the small end surface 43a of the decorative surface material 4, and holds the door end side of the decorative surface material 4 to the door body 3, preventing the door end side of the decorative surface material 4 from peeling off. Since the surface abutment plate portion 81 and the extension plate portion 82 are provided flush with each other, the door end edge member 7 does not protrude significantly when the door end side of the front door 1 is viewed from the outside. Therefore, the design of the front door 1 is not impaired.

As shown in Figures 3 and 7, the hanging edge member 8 is composed of a thin, U-shaped metal fitting that covers the end surface 44a by sandwiching the hanging side of the decorative panel 4 from the front and back. The hanging edge member 8 extends over almost the entire length of the door body 3 in the height direction. In detail, the hanging edge member 8 consists of a front contact plate portion 81 that contacts the exterior side surface 44b of the hanging end end of the decorative panel 4, a back contact plate portion 82 that contacts the back surface 44c of the hanging end end of the decorative panel 4, and a connecting plate portion 83 that covers the end surface 44a and connects the front contact plate portion 81 and the back contact plate portion 82. The hanging edge member 8 is fixed to the end surface 44a by, for example, double-sided adhesive tape 84 on the inner surface of the connecting plate portion 83.

The back surface abutment plate portion 82 has the same thickness as the adhesive layer 5. Therefore, there is no risk that the back surface abutment plate portion 82 will affect the fixation of the decorative surface material 4 by the adhesive layer 5. The back surface of the hanging side of the decorative surface material 4 is supported by the back surface abutment plate portion 82, so the fixed state of the hanging side of the decorative surface material 4 is also stable.

In this way, the small end surfaces 41a, 42a, 43a, and 44a of the decorative surface material 4, which are generally easily damaged, are protected by the edge member 6, the door end side edge member 7, and the hanging side edge member 8, respectively, so that the damage to the decorative surface material 4 is maintained for a long period of time and durability is improved. Since the edge member 6, the door end side edge member 7, and the hanging side edge member 8 are thin plates, they do not protrude significantly from the surface of the front door 1, and the design of the front door 1 is not impaired. Furthermore, the edge member 6 and the door end side edge member 7 have the function of engaging the decorative surface material 4 and holding it to the door body 3, so that the decorative surface material 4 is also prevented from peeling off. Since the decorative surface material 4 is bonded to the door body 3 by the adhesive layer 5, each edge member 6, 7, and 8 can be formed as narrow as possible. Therefore, the effect of each edge member 6, 7, and 8 on the design of the front door 1 can be minimized.

As shown in Figures 8 and 9, a resin cap member 9 is provided at each of the upper and lower corners of the hanging resin core material 312d that is located on the hanging side of the door body 3. The cap members 9 cover and protect the hanging side end faces of the edge members 6 that respectively hold the upper and lower ends of the decorative surface material 4. The upper and lower cap members 9 have the same structure, except that they are symmetrical from top to bottom. Therefore, the structure of the cap member 9 will be explained using Figures 10 to 14, while referring to the cap member 9 located on the lower side.

The cap member 9 has a cap member body 91 that is attached to the upper and lower corners on the hanging side of the door body 3. The cap member body 91 extends over approximately the entire length of the door body 3 in the front direction. In detail, as shown in Figures 10 and 11, the cap member body 91 integrally includes a mounting plate portion 911 that extends in the front direction along the surface of the hanging resin core material 312d of the door body 3, and a protruding plate portion 912 that is bent at approximately a right angle from the inner end of the mounting plate portion 911 in the door height direction and protrudes toward the door edge along the upper and lower sides of the door body 3.

Two screw hole plates 914 that protrude in an arc shape toward the inside in the door height direction are integrally provided on the cap member body 91. As shown in Figures 8 and 9, the cap member 9 is fixed to the hanging resin core material 312d by two mounting screws SC5 and SC6 that are inserted into screw holes 915 provided in the screw hole plates 914, respectively.

The cap member 9 has an integral extension 92 that extends from the cap member main body 91 to the outside of the room by the thickness of the decorative panel 4. The extension 92 is formed by extending the mounting plate 911 and the protruding plate 912 of the cap member main body 91 toward the outside of the room by an amount equivalent to the thickness of the decorative panel 4. The protruding plate 912 extending from the cap member main body 91 to the extension 92 has a notch 913 at a position corresponding to the end face 6a on the hanging side that extends from the mounting plate 61 to the holding portion 63 of the edge member 6, as shown in FIG. 11. This notch 913 is a portion that accommodates and protects the end face 6a on the hanging side that extends from the mounting plate 61 to the holding portion 63 of the edge member 6.

As shown in Figures 10 and 11, the extension 92 has an integral locking portion 93 that locks from the inside in the door height direction to the edge member 6 that protrudes from the hanging side of the decorative panel 4. The locking portion 93 in this embodiment has a locking plate portion 931 and two pillar portions 932.

The locking plate portion 931 extends from the edge 912a of the mounting plate portion 911 opposite the protruding plate portion 912 toward the door end side so as to protrude approximately parallel to the end surface covering portion 62 of the edge member 6. The locking plate portion 931 is arranged to cover the end surface covering portion 62 and the retaining portion 63 of the edge member 6 from the inside in the door height direction. In other words, the height of the mounting plate portion 911 of the cap member 9 along the door height direction is slightly higher than the height of the retaining portion 63 of the edge member 6 along the door height direction. The locking plate portion 931 is arranged to cover the tip edge 63a of the retaining portion 63 by extending from the edge 912a of the mounting plate portion 911 toward the door end side. The tip of the locking plate portion 931 in the extension direction abuts against the hanging side edge member 8 that covers the end surface 44a on the hanging side of the decorative surface material 4.

The two pillars 932 extend parallel to each other from the locking plate 931 toward the surface 62a (see Figures 13 and 14) of the end cover 62 of the edge member 6. The extension direction of the pillars 932 is along the door height direction. As shown in Figure 13, the pillars 932 are integrally connected to the locking plate 931 and the extension 921, which extends flush from the mounting plate 911 of the extension 92 toward the outside of the room. As a result, the two pillars 932 are bridged by the locking plate 931 and the extension 921. Therefore, the extension 92 can firmly support the load acting on it, which will be described later.

The exterior end of the extension 92 has a cover plate 922 integrally therewith that covers the exterior side surface 63b at the end of the hanging side of the holding portion 63 of the edge member 6. The cover plate 922 is integrally connected to the locking plate 931. This allows the extension 92 of the cap member 9 to stably protect the end surface 6a of the hanging side of the edge member 6 without rattling. As shown in Figures 10 and 13, the column 932 that is located on the exterior side of the two pillars 932 is close to the cover plate 922 and is arranged parallel to the cover plate 922. The holding portion 63 of the edge member 6 is sandwiched between this pillar 932 and the cover plate 922. Therefore, the extension 92 of the cap member 9 can more stably protect the end surface 6a of the hanging side of the edge member 6.

The extension 92 has a tapered portion 923 at the corner on the exterior side of the room. The tapered portion 923 connects the extension portion 921 of the extension 92 diagonally to the cover plate portion 922. This chamfers the corner on the exterior side of the cap member 9, mitigating the impact on the cap member 9 due to the collision of an object, etc.

Next, the effect of the cap member 9 will be described. The entrance door 1 of this embodiment includes a door body 3 that is openably and closably accommodated inside a door frame 2 provided in an opening 101 of a building structure 100, a decorative surface material 4 provided on an exterior panel portion 32 that is the exterior side of the door body 3, an upper resin core material 312a arranged on the upper side of the door body 3 and a lower resin core material 312bi arranged on the lower side, respectively, and an edge member 6 that holds the decorative surface material 4, and a cap member 9 provided on the upper end corner and the lower end corner of the hanging side of the door body 3. The cap member 9 has a cap member body 91 attached to the door body 3, an extension portion 92 that extends from the cap member body 91 to the outside of the room by the thickness of the decorative surface material 4, and a locking portion 93 provided on the extension portion 92 and locks with the edge member 6 from the inside in the door height direction. As a result, if a load is applied to the extension 92 of the cap member 9 in the outward direction of the door height, for example, when the cap member 9 is accidentally stepped on by a shoe during transportation or assembly of the door body 3, as shown by the white arrow in FIG. 14, the locking portion 93 abuts against the edge member 6 from the inside in the door height direction, preventing the extension 92 of the cap member 9 from bending outward in the door height direction. Therefore, damage to the cap member 9 is prevented, and there is no risk of the end face of the edge member 6 on the hanging side being exposed.

The edge member 6 of this embodiment has an end surface covering portion 62 that covers the end surfaces 41a, 42a at the upper and lower ends of the decorative surface material 4, and a retaining portion 63 that extends inward in the door height direction from the exterior end of the end surface covering portion 62 and retains the exterior sides 41a, 41b of the decorative surface material 4. The locking portion 93 extends from the extension portion 92 toward the door end and has a locking plate portion 931 that locks the tip edge 63a of the retaining portion 63. This allows the extension portion 92 to receive a load acting from the outside along the door height direction by abutting against the retaining portion 63 that extends inward in the door height direction. Therefore, the extension portion 92 of the cap member 9 can be firmly prevented from bending and deforming.

The locking portion 93 in this embodiment extends from the locking plate portion 931 along the door height direction and has a pillar portion 932 that locks the end surface cover portion 62 of the edge member 6. This allows the load acting on the extension portion 92 to be received by the locking plate portion 931 as well as by the pillar portion 932 abutting against the surface 62a of the end surface cover portion 62 of the edge member 6. This further firmly prevents the extension portion 92 of the cap member 9 from bending and deforming.

The extension 92 in this embodiment has a tapered portion 923 at the corner on the exterior side. This chamfers the corner on the exterior side of the cap member 9. This reduces the impact on the cap member 9 caused by the collision of an object, etc., and increases the durability of the cap member 9. Furthermore, since the corner of the door body 3 does not protrude at an acute angle, the appearance of the front door 1 is also improved.

In this embodiment, if the decorative surface material 4 is a ceramic tile, it can easily give the entrance door 1 the high quality surface texture of the ceramic tile.
