DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a boulder used in a ball mill for grinding breaststone and feldspar, which are the main raw materials for ceramics.

The raw materials for ceramics are usually corner stones and feldspar crushed to a certain size and ground together with clay (not always included) in a ball mill, but in this case cobblestone is mixed in.

Currently, this cobblestone is either natural or artificially shaped into a spherical shape, but natural cobblestones are required to be of high quality and do not contain impurities, especially iron, and are difficult to shape. It is necessary to select a suitable size and a flat surface to some extent, and there are also problems in obtaining it. On the other hand, artificial spherical particles have the disadvantage of poor grinding efficiency.

This invention is an attempt to solve such problems, and the grinding surface with the main raw materials (pottery stone and feldspar) is made wider, and the flat surface is designed to make effective use of contact with the inner peripheral surface of the ball mill or sliding down. Moreover, it has been devised to have a certain thickness so that the grinding efficiency can be increased even in the surrounding area.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
The material used is about 5 mm wide, 25 mm thick, and weighs about 200 mm.

Moreover, its constituent components are the same as those of ordinary ceramics. 1 is a flat, oval-shaped grinding surface formed on both the upper and lower sides of the boulder, and 2 is a long and narrow belt-shaped grinding surface formed over the entire outer circumferential surface of the boulder.

'As shown in Figure 2, a large number of such boulders, together with granular chinastone and feldspar (and viscosity), which are the main raw materials for ceramics, are put into the rotary cylinder 3 of a poll mill and rotated. In this case, when this boulder slides downward along the lining stone (for example, a stone stone) 4 on the inner periphery of the rotating cylinder 3, the oval-shaped crushed surface 1 of the boulder will crush the main raw material between it and the lining foundation stone 4. The grinding surface 2 on the outer periphery similarly slides down while rubbing against the lining pumice stone 4 with the main raw material sandwiched between it and the lining pumice stone 4.

Also, of course, the boulders may rub against each other on their oval-shaped crushing surfaces 1 or belt-shaped crushing surfaces 2 with the main raw material sandwiched between them. Since the boulders rub against each other in both cases, the grinding efficiency of grinding the main raw material is improved.

In this regard, in the conventional example in which the cobblestones were artificially formed into a nearly spherical shape (see the two-dot chain line in Figure 2), the cobblestones rubbed against the rotating body or other cobblestones in almost point contact, so the main raw material This method has the disadvantage that the grinding efficiency and the efficiency of grinding the gemstones together are poor, and the grinding operation takes a lot of time.

The boulders may be of any type as long as they have a grinding surface that makes surface contact with the frogstone lining of the rotating body or with each other.
It can be formed into an elliptical plate shape or a perfect circular plate shape with thick walls as shown in figures a and b, respectively, or a regular square plate shape with rounded corners or a rectangular plate shape with rounded corners as shown in figures c and d. It can also be formed.

After the main raw materials have been crushed using cobblestones as described above, they are taken out from the rotary body of the pole mill along with (clay) water, drained, and used as materials for making ceramics.

During this crushing process, the cobblestones gradually wear out, but they are used repeatedly. As mentioned above, the cobblestones of the present invention can be made uniform in size compared to natural ones, so the time it takes for each cobblestone to wear out and disappear can be made almost constant.
Therefore, the time required for each cobblestone to wear out differs, and the number of cobblestones does not gradually decrease, which prevents a reduction in grinding efficiency.

In addition, since the cobblestone of the present invention has almost the same components as ceramics, there is no risk of impurities such as iron getting into the ceramics.

Furthermore, since the boulders of the present invention are uniform in shape and do not contain impurities, there is no need to check the quality of each boulder in these respects, which can save time and effort.
