The friction between the ring and the traveler is intense, and the paper feeding force fluctuates immediately after the start of operation, resulting in thread breakage, rapid wear of the traveler, shortening its lifespan, or the traveler flying off due to burnt traveler. There is a drawback that this occurs.

Although chrome plating has very high hardness, it has the disadvantage that it does not fit well with the ring, and the spinning force becomes extremely high in the early stages of production, resulting in frequent yarn breakage.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks and provides a traveler for a loom that has good initial fitting to the ring, less yarn breakage, excellent lubricity and wear resistance, and provides a stable continuous running condition.

Embodiment FIGS. 1 and 2 show a front view and a cross-sectional view of a traveler for a loom according to the present invention, in which fine molybdenum disulfide particles 2 having a grain height of 1 or less are coated on the entire surface of a horizontal or vertical metal traveler 1 or on the inner surface in sliding contact with a ring. Then, an epoxy resin coating 4 containing fine particles 3 of alumina or carborundum having a grain size of less than 1r is formed to a thickness of 20 degrees or less (preferably 3 to 15 degrees) to form a paper machine traveler.

This is done by drying and sanding, and a glossy film with good adhesion and a uniform thickness (3 to 15 r) is obtained.

The sliding saddle between the ring and the traveler, which has more than 20 peaks, tends to peel off and cause abnormal wear. Note that the lubricity is further improved when a low-grade metal such as Zn, AI, Sn, or Cd is contained in the epoxy resin. In addition, the content of molybdenum disulfide and alumina, carborundum, or low melting point metal in the epoxy resin is 5 to 5, depending on its adhesion.
The ratio of molybdenum disulfide to alumina, carborangum, or low melting point metal is preferably in the range of 1:1 to 2:1 from the viewpoint of lubricity and wear resistance. Since the present invention is constructed as described above, the entire surface of the metal traveler or at least the inner surface in contact with the ring is coated with an epoxy resin containing fine particles of one or more of molybdenum disulfide, alumina, carborundum, or a low melting point metal. Forming a film improves initial conformability and abrasion resistance, stabilizes the paper texture, and reduces thread breakage and traveler burn.

Furthermore, by improving the wear resistance of the traveler, the life of the ring can be significantly extended. Furthermore, by obtaining a glossy coating by barrel dipping, the spun yarn is not soiled, and the lubricity allows for good yarn slippage, reducing the occurrence of yarn fluff.
