される物質のそなえる条件としては、心理的に不
安、警戒を感じさせる臭質であること、稀薄濃度
で感知できること、安定な物質であつて臭気が消
失または変化しないこと、金属、パツキング、ダ
イアフラム等に対し腐食性のないこと、又、使用
濃度では人体に無害であることが要求される。か
かる目的にそう化合物を鋭意検討した結果ビスア
ルキルメルカプト化合物R1−S−R2−S−R3

の付臭剤は金属、ダイアフラム等に対する腐食性
もなく、熱、酸化反応等に対して著しく安定であ
るという特徴を有する。 以下にその実施例を示すが、本発明は実施例に
のみ限定されるものではない。 実施例 1 重量比で1・2−ビスメチルメルカプトプロパ
ン50部に対し溶媒としてn−ヘキサン50部を使用
混合撹拌して製品とする。ついでこの製品をL.P.
G.1Kgに対し0.02gの割合で添加した。このガス
を空気で200倍に希釈した状態で臭気試験を行つ
たところ強いガス臭を感じた。 実施例 2 重量比で1・2−ビスメチルメルカプトエタン
30部、テトラヒドロテオフエン20部、n−ヘキサ
ン50部を使用撹拌して製品とする。ついでこの製
品をL.P.G.1Kgに対し0.03gの割合で添加した。
このガスを空気で200倍に希釈した状態で臭気試
験をおこなつたところ強いガス臭を感じた。 実施例 3 重量比で1・4−ビスメチルメルカプト−2−
ブテン30部、ジメチルサルフアイド10部、テトラ
ヒドロチオフエン10部、n−ヘキサン50部を使用
混合撹拌して製品とする。ついでこの製品をL.P.
G.1Kgに対し0.03gの割合で添加した。このガス
を空気200倍に希釈した状態で臭気試験をおこな
つたところ強いガス臭を示した。
