DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention is an embroidery sewing machine, that is, a sewing machine that creates patterns on fabric.
Regarding a presser frame that can be used in a well-known embroidery sewing machine in which a pattern or the like is formed by machine sewing means, in detail, the presser frame is pressed against the surface of a cloth that is stretched over the bed of the sewing machine. This invention relates to a fabric upholstery frame for an embroidery sewing machine, which is constructed so that the fabric can be moved laterally by moving the presser frame parallel to the bed surface.

A conventional presser frame consists of an outer frame 22 and an inner frame 21, as shown in FIG. After that, the inner frame is sunk into the outer frame so that the outer periphery of the inner frame overlaps the inner periphery of the outer frame, and the cloth is held under pressure by both opposing surfaces. With such a structure, when setting the bed, the cloth is first pushed down by the inner frame, so the initial position of the cloth placed under tension on the bed surface and the position of the cloth after the inner frame is pushed down are as follows. There was a danger of moving sideways to the needle drop position of the bed, and skill was required to set it.
Furthermore, since a part of the cloth is narrowed between the inner frame and the outer frame, wrinkles occur there, and after the embroidery is completed, other methods such as pressing are required to correct the wrinkles. Furthermore, when cloths to be embroidered are brought in one after another and the thicknesses of the cloths are different, this will correspond to the case (i.e. the gap between the outer diameter of the inner frame and the inner diameter of the outer frame will be This has a major disadvantage in that it requires time and complexity to set it up, such as the need for a means to match the thickness of the film.

Also known is a structure in which engaging needles are established on the upper surface of a hollow annular presser frame, the fabric on the bed is folded around, lifted, and locked above (for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 50-32160). reference). In such a structure, if the cloth is long as shown in Figure 1 attached to the present application, it is very difficult to lift the cloth, and as shown in Figure 1, it is difficult to lift the cloth. However, there is a drawback that it is impossible to sew multiple patterns in conjunction with each other in places close to each other. In addition, when pulling cloth, the cloth must be folded up all around the circumference and pulled by hand, and the work of folding up thick cloth and then pulling it toward the engagement needle requires a weak female worker. It was a task that could not be done.

Embodiments of the present application will be described below with reference to the drawings. Those indicated by numerals 1 to 3 are usually well-known multi-interlocking type (multi-head type) embroidery sewing machines, which have a bed whose upper surface is a smooth cloth placing surface, and which are placed on the bed and which slide horizontally and vertically on the upper surface of the bed. A cloth to be embroidered by the multi-head sewing machine is shown below. Reference numeral 4 denotes a presser frame formed in an annular shape, which is used to give the cloth 3 the movement necessary for embroidery, such as in the direction of arrow 11 parallel to the upper surface of the bed, while the cloth 3 is in tension. Although the mechanism for moving the presser frame 4 is not shown, it is preferable to use a well-known mechanism similar to that used for operating a conventionally used presser frame (shown in FIG. 6). On the surface of the presser frame 4 facing the bed, that is, on the presser surface 5, there is a concave groove 6.
is provided around the periphery, and a clothing 7 as a upholstery element is buried in the groove thereof. In this clothing 7, reference numeral 9 denotes a large number of engagement needles that are successively planted in a concave groove 6 in the lower surface 5 of the presser frame 4 formed in an annular shape. On the other hand, the tip 9' of the engagement needle 9 should protrude slightly beyond the presser surface 5, for example by about 2 to 3 mm, depending on the fabric to be embroidered, and The protruding direction is the direction in which it spreads from the bed surface,
That is, when the presser frame 4 is pressed against the fabric 3, as shown in FIG. 4, since the smooth surface of the bed 2 is hard, the needle tip 9' of the engagement needle is engaged with the fabric and moves toward the arrow 11a.
direction, and pull the cloth in the radial direction 11a centering on the needle drop position 1'. In this state, the cloth is allowed to move in the direction of the arrow 11a with respect to the needle, but when the cloth is moved toward the needle drop position 1', the movement is prevented.
Therefore, when looking at the needle tips 9' from the center of the presser frame 4, it is very convenient during use if all the needle tips are made to protrude obliquely in the radial direction, that is, in the outer circumferential direction. The needle tip side of the base fabric 8 is filled with a rubber material 10, which is effective in maintaining the elasticity of the engagement needle 9.

In addition, the distance between these needles, that is, the number of needles per unit area, the thickness of the needles, and the shape of the needle tips, are determined by the distance between the needle tips 9' and the fabric when the presser frame is placed on the fabric and pressed. Although the needles are engaged as shown in FIG. 4, they are set to such an extent that the needle tip does not penetrate through the cloth 3. Although it depends on the thickness of the fabric, it is best to make the needle tip rounded when working with thin fabrics. For example, a needle can be used as a needle tip.
55 to 100 needles/cm 2 , and the thickness of the needles may be, for example, a conventional card wire gauge (CWG) #25 to #36. As for the angles, it is best to set the A angle in Figure 4 to about 70° to 90°, the B angle to about 35° to 90°, and the height C to about 7 to 12 mm.

An example of using the above configuration will be described. First, the cloth 3 necessary for embroidering is spread out on the smooth surface of the bed 2, and the cloth is pulled around the needle drop position. In this state, when the annular presser frame 4 is placed so as to surround the needle drop position and pressed against the fabric side, a large number of engagements protruding from the presser frame 4 on the presser surface 5 side are engaged. The tips 9' of the needles 9 are bent toward the outer periphery and engage the cloth 3, respectively, to pull the cloth 3 toward the outer periphery and to prevent the cloth 3 from being drawn toward the center. In such a state, each of the plurality of sewing machines 1 is operated, and the fabric 3 in each presser frame is
Started embroidery. Of course, presser frame 4
is operated by a well-known mechanism in the front, rear, left and right directions, and the cloth 3 moves on the smooth surface of the bed according to the presser frame 4. After the embroidery is completed in this manner, the cloth 3 is freed simply by lifting the presser frame 4, making its handling simple and convenient.

Next, FIG. 5 shows a presser frame 4 used when embroidering initials etc. on the corner 3b of the handkerchief 3a. If it is formed to correspond to the shape, it will be very convenient when pressing down a handkerchief or the collar of a blouse.

As described above, in the present invention, the cloth 3 (for example, the long cloth 3 in FIG. 1) spread on the bed 2
On the other hand, even with the simple operation of placing the presser frame 4 on the presser frame 4 with the side where the many engaging needles 9 are facing downward and pressing them together, the engaging needles 9, each of which is slanted toward the outer periphery, can be pressed. , each curves and spreads around the outer periphery centering on the needle drop position 1' in FIG. 1, and has the feature of pulling the cloth 3 around the needle drop position 1' as the center. This has the effect of eliminating slack in the fabric surrounded by the presser frame 4, making it possible to simplify and speed up the fabric upholstery work.

Furthermore, when the presser foot frame 4 is pressed against the cloth 3 as shown in FIG. It also has the effect of further increasing the tension of the cloth 3 (making it taut) by manually pulling it from outside the presser frame 4 in the direction of the outer periphery.
Of course, in this case, since all the needle tips 9' are directed toward the outer periphery, there is an effect of preventing the stretched cloth from returning toward the needle drop position 1'.

Further, after the embroidery is finished, when the presser frame 4 is lifted, the cloth 3 is immediately freed, which has the advantage of speeding up the cloth handling work.
