(Prior art) When decorating the surface of a conventional steel product by forming an uneven pattern, rust forms on the surface and rust is brittle, so the uneven pattern is difficult to form. In order to prevent the uneven pattern from disappearing along with the process, it is common to protect the surface by forming a protective coating such as anti-corrosion paint on the surface of the steel product after the uneven pattern has been formed.

This has the disadvantage that rust occurs from the deteriorated portions of the protective coating, spoiling the surface decoration.

The purpose is to provide a surface decoration method for steel products that does not damage the surface decoration even when exposed to weathering. It consists of forming a desired uneven pattern and then forming a porous resin coating on the surface.

いわゆる錆安定化処理によつて行なわれる。 Formation of a porous resin film that covers the surface of a steel product with an uneven pattern can be achieved by, for example, applying a porous low-molecular acrylic resin film directly to the surface of the steel product, or applying a phosphate-based chemical conversion film to the surface of the steel product. This is done by a so-called rust stabilization treatment that is formed through the process.

形成した凹凸模様を耐久性のあるものとする。 By forming such a porous resin film, it is possible to protect the uneven pattern on the surface of the steel product until stable rust forms, and also to use the air permeability and water permeability of the film to create a uniform and appropriate surface under the film. At the same time, this brittle rust can be retained under the coating, leading to the formation of stable rust. Therefore, with long-term use of steel products, a dense and hard amorphous rust layer is formed on the surface of the steel product, making the uneven pattern formed on the surface of the steel product durable.

る。(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the surface decoration method for steel products of the present invention, a desired uneven pattern can be formed on the surface of a steel product made of a weather-resistant steel material that generates stable rust on the surface and formed into a desired shape. Since a porous resin coating is then formed on the surface, it is possible to apply a surface decoration to the steel product that will not cause any damage even after long-term use.
