A spray gun that sprays paint toward the object to be painted is attached to its support bar, and data on the planar shape of the object that has been detected in advance is sent to the object passing in front of the spray gun. Painting is automatically applied by spraying paint based on the By the way, if the object to be coated has a side surface on the periphery of the surface facing the spray gun, such as when the object is box-shaped, the spray speed may vary depending on the depth dimension of the side surface. By correcting the planar shape data of the object to be painted so that the gun oversprays the outside of the periphery by a predetermined distance, it is possible to apply paint to the sides of the object. In the past, workers manually corrected the planar shape data according to the object to be painted, which resulted in low work efficiency. , it was impossible to deal with this.

In addition to installing a sensor for detection, a control device is also provided to correct data on the planar shape of the object to be painted according to the magnitude of the detection value of the sensor, and the spray gun controls the object to be painted based on the correction data from the control device. The structure was designed to overspray the outside of the periphery of the object.

ができる効果がある。Functions and Effects of the Invention Since the automatic painting device of the present invention has the above configuration,
The overspray distance from the periphery of the object to be painted is automatically set according to the depth and width of the side surface of the periphery of the surface facing the spray gun, and the appropriate amount of paint is applied to the side surface. Since the overspray distance for each object to be coated is automatically set for each object to be coated, work efficiency is improved and it can also be used when objects of different shapes are sprayed randomly. There is an effect that can be done.

のデータを補正するようになつている。 In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 is a conveyor that suspends and conveys the object a to be coated in the horizontal direction;
A reciprocator 2 is disposed near the coating position A of this conveyor 1, and this reciprocator 2
The support bar 3 protruding from the side is driven reciprocally in the vertical direction, and the support bar 3 is equipped with a spray gun 4 that sprays paint toward the object a passing in front of the support bar 3. The paint supply port is connected to an on-off valve 5 connected to a paint pumping source, and the on-off valve 5 is connected to a control device 6 that sends out an on-off signal.
On the other hand, a gate-shaped frame 7 is disposed in front of the coating position A of the conveyor 1 and straddles above the conveyor 1, and a spray gun for spraying the object to be coated A is installed inside each of the pillars 8, 8 on both sides of the gate-shaped frame 7. Detectors 10, 10 for detecting the planar shape of the surface facing 4 are attached, and each detector 10 is connected to the control device 6 via a shift register 11. Data on the planar shape of the object to be painted is sequentially sent to a shift register 11 and temporarily stored. When the object to be painted a approaches the front of the spray gun 4, the control device 6 Data on the planar shape corresponding to the object to be painted is read from the shift register 11, and based on the data, an opening/closing signal is sent to the on-off valve 5, so that the spray gun 4 applies paint according to the shape of the front surface of the object to be painted. In addition, on the lower surface of the upper plate of the gate-shaped frame 7, there is a light emitting device that emits light downward.
The projectors 12a and 12b are installed at intervals near the center and on the outside thereof, and the receivers 13a and 13b that receive the light from the projectors 12a and 12b, respectively, are installed opposite to each other on the floor. The light receivers 13a and 13b are connected to respective shift registers 15 that store data on whether or not each light is received.
This shift register 15 is connected to the control device 6, and when the control device 6 reads data on the shape of the object a to be painted from the shift register 11, the control device 6 simultaneously reads out data on the shape of the object a to be painted from each shift register 15. According to the combination of data, three types of preset overspray distance settings are selected. When the receiver 13b is not receiving light, the setting value is set to "large", when the receiver 13a is receiving light and the receiver 13b is not receiving light, the setting value is "medium", and both the receivers 13b and 13a are When light is being received, the setting value "small" is selected, and the shape data of the object to be coated a is corrected based on each setting value.

きる。 As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the object to be coated a is box-shaped and has a small width on its side surfaces, so that when it passes inside the gate-shaped frame 7, both of the projectors 12a and 12b are exposed. If the object a does not block the light of the spray gun 4, since both the light receivers 13a and 13b receive the light,
When approaching the front of the vehicle, the control device 6 selects the overspray distance "small" as described above,
By correcting the data on the shape of the object to be painted that is read from the shift register 11, the spray gun 4 oversprays the outer edge of the front surface of the object to be painted by a distance X corresponding to the set value. In addition, when the object to be painted a has a side width that blocks only the light from the inner projector 12a, only the light receiver 13b receives the light, so the control device 6 adjusts the overspray distance as described above. "Medium" is selected, whereby the spray gun 4 oversprays the outside of the periphery of the object a by a distance Y corresponding to the setting value, and further,
If the object to be coated a has a large side width that blocks the light from both of the projectors 12a and 12b, neither of the receivers 13a and 13b will receive the light, so the control device 6 will The overspray distance "Large" is selected, and the spray gun 4 oversprays the outside of the periphery of the object a by a distance Z corresponding to the setting value. The optimal overspray distance is set according to the depth and width of the side of object a, so no matter how large or small the depth or width of the side is, it is possible to apply enough paint to that side without wasting paint. can be painted on.
