As the body grows larger, the cushion material needs to have a certain degree of rigidity to prevent the body from sinking unnaturally.

As disclosed in Publication No. 36954, etc., there is a method in which countless crimped staples are formed by needle processing as necessary, and the joining points of each staple are bonded and held with adhesive. The latter two also have excellent breathability. The above-mentioned cushion material is made flexible in the vicinity of the body-contacting surface and in the vicinity of the opposite surface by, for example, laminating flexible cushioning materials with a small spring constant on the upper and lower sides to fill the mattress.

る等の問題点がある。 By the way, most modern beds, especially those used by patients in hospitals, etc., are constructed with undulating floorboards, and the mattresses used in such beds must bend to follow the undulations of the floorboards. . However, as mentioned above, cushion materials with moderate rigidity are difficult to bend due to their rigidity, and if a pinerest made of cushioning material is used in the bed described above, a portion of the cushion material may bulge out when bent.
It is easy to lose its shape or get damaged, and there are problems such as gradually becoming uncomfortable to sleep on and deteriorating its durability.

Before needling, countless crimped staples, which existed simply at random as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 3b, in the portion where the staple passes through and its vicinity, the proportion of staples oriented in the thickness direction increases. As a result, the flat plate member 4 has different cushioning properties in the thickness direction and in the spreading direction perpendicular to the thickness direction, that is, as shown in FIG. 5a, the spring constant is smaller in the thickness direction. It is large in the direction of expansion.

In the figure, reference numeral 6 indicates a bent portion, and 7 indicates a connecting portion. The corrugated member 4 may be held by an appropriate method such as sewing 10 performed together with the covering sheet 8, adhesion or welding, and a firm corrugated member 4' can be produced by such a method.

On the other hand, when the strain exceeds a predetermined value, the change in strain with respect to a change in load becomes small, that is, the spring constant becomes large. Strain up to a predetermined value is considered to be strain in the bent portion 6, and therefore, the corrugated member 4' has cushioning properties similar to those obtained by laminating flexible cushioning materials on the upper and lower sides of a rigid cushioning material. I understand.

are arranged in a line in the vertical direction. In the method of connecting the upper and lower parts in two stages, a sheet member 9 is interposed between the upper and lower corrugated members 4', and the two are adhered via the sheet member 9.
This method has the advantage that the joining is easy; however, in some cases, the corrugated members 4' having an upper and lower structure may be joined by appropriate means without interposing the sheet member 9.

る。 When using the mattress constructed as described above, the user's weight is applied to the cushion material 5 from the upper bent portion 6u through the connecting portion 7 to the lower bent portion 6l. Therefore, the top of the bent portion 6 corresponds to the thickness direction of the flat plate-like member 4, and as it goes toward the connecting portion 7, the bending portion 6 gradually shifts to the expanding direction. The spring constant is small. Therefore, since it is flexible,
The upper bent portion 6u supports the user's body flexibly, and the lower bent portion 6l cushions the impact. On the other hand, since the connecting portion 7 corresponds to the direction in which the flat plate member 4 spreads, it has a large spring constant and appropriate rigidity, thereby preventing the body from sinking unnaturally. As described above, the cushion material 5 of the present invention has cushioning properties similar to those obtained by laminating flexible cushion materials on the upper and lower sides of a rigid cushion material, as described above.

A load is applied in the upper bending direction with the upper position as the bending position.

る。 Therefore, if the symbol C in FIG. 6 is the upward bending position, a compressive load is applied to the upper part and a tensile load is applied to the lower part of the connecting parts 7l and 7r on both sides of the position C, and these loads acts as a resistance to bending, but since the direction of these loads corresponds to the thickness direction of the flat plate-like member 4, which has a small spring constant, the resistance force is small, and therefore it can be easily bent. The gap d between the bent portions 6 of
This can prevent the member from bulging toward the bending side.

とができる。 In the cushion material 5 of the present invention, the corrugated members 4 are constructed in two stages, upper and lower. In this two-stage construction, the connecting portions 7 of the upper and lower corrugated members 4 are aligned vertically. Since they are arranged and connected to each other, they essentially act as almost one connecting part. The great advantage of this two-stage configuration is that a thick wave-shaped member 4' is made from the flat plate-like member 4, and if this alone is used as a cushion material, it tends to lose its shape, but a thin wave-shaped member 4' is made. By making this into a two-stage structure, it is possible to create a firm cushion material that does not lose its shape.

It satisfies all of the requirements: moderate rigidity to prevent the body from sinking unnaturally, flexibility near the body contact surface and the opposite surface, and moderate bendability. Incidentally, an accumulation of countless crimped staples 2
After needle processing, if necessary, as disclosed in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-36954, etc.,
The bonding points of each staple may be bonded with adhesive, or as another method, the outer periphery of each staple may be coated with a hot melt resin and melted to bond the bonding points to improve their bonding properties. In this case, such a joining operation, that is, spraying an adhesive or melting a hot melt resin, is performed after forming the corrugated plate shape, thereby making it possible to connect the joining points. , holding operations in the corrugated plate shape can be performed simultaneously.

Since the cushion material is constructed by holding the cushion, it is possible to satisfy all of the following requirements: moderate rigidity to prevent the body from sinking unnaturally, flexibility near the body contact surface and the opposite surface, and moderate bendability. This has the special effect of providing good air permeability.

For this reason, by making the corrugated members thin and configuring them in two stages, this will combine with the structure in which the upper and lower corrugated members are adhesively bonded via the sheet member described above to prevent deformation. This method has the great advantage of being able to produce ideal cushioning materials that are free from sagging.
