Description
[希土類磁石の製造]
まず、粉末冶金法により、組成が27.6Nd−4.9Dy−0.5Co−0.4Al−0.07Cu−1.0B−残部Fe(数字は重量百分率を表す。)である鋳塊を作製し、これを粗粉砕した。その後、不活性ガスによるジェットミル粉砕を行って、平均粒径約3.5μmの微粉末を得た。得られた微粉末を金型内に充填し、磁場中で成形した。次いで、真空中で焼結後、熱処理を施して焼結体を得た。得られた焼結体を20mm×10mm×2mmの寸法に切り出し加工し、磁石素体を得た。次に、得られた磁石素体に対し、2%HNO3水溶液中に2分間浸漬する酸洗浄を行った後、超音波洗浄を行った。
実施例1〜7と同様にして得られた磁石素体をそのまま希土類磁石とした。
実施例1〜7と同様にして得られた磁石素体を、10%水ガラス水溶液(pH約11.5)に浸漬した後に引き上げた。この水ガラスが付着した磁石素体を水洗せずに150℃で20分乾燥させて、磁石素体の表面にケイ酸ナトリウム被膜を備える希土類磁石を得た。ケイ酸ナトリウム被膜の膜厚は、0.3μmであった。
[特性評価]
実施例1〜7及び比較例1〜2の希土類磁石をそれぞれ用い、以下に示すようにしてこれらの永久減磁率を測定した。すなわち、まず、製造後の希土類磁石の磁束を測定した。次いで、この希土類磁石に対し、120℃、0.2MPa、100%RH、100時間の条件でプレッシャー・クッカー・テスト(PCT試験)を行った。それから、PCT試験後の希土類磁石を再度着磁した後、この希土類磁石の磁束を測定した。そして、試験前に得られた磁束の値に対して試験後に得られた磁束の値が減少した割合(%)を算出し、これを永久減磁率とした。得られた結果を表2に示す。
実施例1〜7及び比較例1〜2で得られた希土類磁石を、それぞれ50gの蒸留水中に1個浸漬し、25℃で24時間放置した。そして、各希土類磁石を浸漬させた蒸留水それぞれについてICP分析を行い、希土類磁石から蒸留水中に溶出したSiの量を測定した。蒸留水中へのSiの溶出が多かった希土類磁石ほど、保護層中の成分が溶出し易く、耐水性が低いことを示す。得られた結果を表2に示す。
実施例1及び比較例2で得られた希土類磁石に、それぞれ嫌気性アクリル接着剤(ロックタイト392)を塗布し、この接着剤が塗布された面を表面が洗浄された鉄板に圧着した後、150℃で30分乾燥した。各希土類磁石の鉄板に対する接着性を、圧縮せん断試験により測定した。この圧縮せん断試験は、室温で5mm/分の条件で行った。この圧縮せん断試験により得られた接着力の値は、実施例1の希土類磁石では323kg/cm2であり、比較例2の希土類磁石では41kg/cm2であった。これより、実施例1の希土類磁石によれば、比較例2の希土類磁石に比して、接着剤を介して他の部材に接着する際に、高い接着性が得られることが確認された。
Claims (13)
- 少なくとも希土類元素を含む金属元素を含有する磁石素体と、この磁石素体の表面上に形成された保護層と、を備え、
前記保護層は、ケイ素、酸素及び前記磁石素体に含まれる金属元素のうちの少なくとも一種と同じ金属元素を含み、
前記保護層に含まれる前記金属元素のうちの少なくとも一種は、当該保護層における表面側から前記磁石素体側に向かって濃度が大きくなっている、
ことを特徴とする希土類磁石。 - 前記保護層に含まれる前記金属元素のうちの少なくとも一種は、当該保護層の厚さ方向の中央よりも表面側にまで少なくとも含まれており、前記表面側から前記磁石素体側に向かって濃度が大きくなっている、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記保護層は、前記金属元素のうちの少なくとも一種の濃度が、前記磁石素体中の当該金属元素の濃度よりも高い部分を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記磁石素体及び前記保護層は、鉄を含み、前記保護層中の鉄は、当該保護層における表面側から前記磁石素体側に向かって濃度が大きくなっている、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記保護層は、前記磁石素体に含まれる希土類元素のうちの少なくとも一種と同じ希土類元素を含み、該希土類元素は、当該保護層における表面側から前記磁石素体側に向かって濃度が大きくなっている、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記磁石素体及び前記保護層は、アルミニウムを含み、前記保護層中のアルミニウムは、当該保護層における表面側から前記磁石素体側に向かって濃度が大きくなっている、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記磁石素体及び前記保護層は、銅を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記保護層は、アルカリ金属元素の含有量が2質量%以下である、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記保護層は、チタン、ジルコニウム、バナジウム、モリブデン、タングステン及びマンガンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種の元素を更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石。
- 少なくとも希土類元素を含む金属元素を含有する磁石素体の表面に、ケイ酸アルカリ金属塩又はケイ酸アンモニウム塩を含み且つ酸性を有する水溶液を接触させて、前記表面上に、ケイ素、酸素及び前記磁石素体に含まれる金属元素のうちの少なくとも一種と同じ金属元素を含む保護層を析出させる工程を有する、ことを特徴とする希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 前記水溶液を接触させた後、該水溶液が付着した状態の前記保護層を洗浄する工程を更に有する、ことを特徴とする請求項10記載の希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 前記水溶液として、ケイ酸イオン以外の金属イオンを更に含むものを用い、該金属イオンに由来する金属元素を更に含む前記保護層を析出させる、ことを特徴とする請求項10又は11記載の希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 前記水溶液は、酸化剤を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項10〜12のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石の製造方法。
