Something is said to be Promethean (sense 2) when it pertains to the promethea silkmoth (Callosamia promethea).

The adjective is derived from Prometheus (“demigod in Greek mythology”) +‎ -an (suffix meaning ‘of or pertaining to’ forming adjectives; and forming agent nouns).
