All Legendary Katanas
Acquiring a Legendary Weapon allows you to use all four parts of the weapon—the Blade, Guard, Saya and Handle—to customize any Katana of your choice.

All Katana Blades and Sayas
Obtaining non-legendary Katanas with a prefix (e.g. Ronin's Katana, Divine Katana) will allow you to customize the Blade and Saya of any Katana of your choice.

Obtaining non-legendary Katanas with a suffix (e.g. Katana of Security, Katana of Wandering) will allow you to customize the Guard and Handle of any Katana of your choice.

How to Customize Weapons
Transmog in Inventory
Open up your inventory, and select the equipment you wish to transmogrify. Once selected, press the customize button, found in the bottom right of the menu screen.
How to Transmog Weapons and Armor
Customize Individual Weapon Parts
You can customize the look of 4 individual parts of your weapon: the Blade, Handle, Guard, and Saya. Scroll through each category to pick and choose parts for your weapon.
Note that this is all cosmetic and does not affect the weapon's performance.
