Speak to Gyoji at the Hideout Entrance
The quest trigger for The Tournament will be at the entrance to your Hideout in Izumi Settsu. Look for Gyoji at the entrance and speak to him to get the Tournament Invitation quest item.
Go to the Ominesanji Temple in Yamato
The Tournament will be held in the Ominesanji Temple in the Yamato province. You'll find it to the southeast of the Yoshino sub-region. The nearest fast travel points will be the Ominesanji Kakurega or the Ominesanji Overlook.
Note: If you don't have either fast travel point unlocked, brace yourself for a long ride since there is no direct route to this location. You'll either have to approach from the west from the town of Yoshino or from the east by riding along the steep mountain paths of Mount Hakkyo.
Speak to Gyoji to Start the Tournament
Once at Ominesanji Temple switch characters to Yasuke and look for Gyoji again (he should be seated near a ruined temple building). Speak to him to start the tournament.
Defeat All 5 Tournament Participants to Win
When ready, head over to the bell next to the arena and ring it to start the match. Defeat all 5 tournament participants to complete the quest.

After beating Lord Unkai, look for Gyoji again and speak to him to receive the rewards for the quest.
How to Unlock The Tournament
Complete 7 Shinbakufu Targets
In order to unlock The Tournament, you must have completed the questlines of at least seven Shinbakufu members, including the Onryo Samurai that you defeat in the Prologue. It doesn't matter which questlines you complete first, as long as you have seven completed Shinbakufu targets.
Once you meet this requirement, travel to your Hideout in Izumi Settsu. You should then see this quest pop up on your map, southwest of the Hideout.

5000 XP and Ability Unlocks
Finshing the tournament will grant you 5000 XP as well as two new ability unlocks - one each for Naoe and Yasuke.

Once you talk to Gyoji after beating Lord Unkai, you will receive the Test Your Might trophy. This is 1 of 54 trophies that you need to earn in order to get the Platinum Trophy for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
