Description

The present invention relates to a house with multiple rooms with floors at different heights.

The house in Patent Document 1 comprises a dining room, a living room that is adjacent to the dining room and has a lower floor height than the dining room, and a Japanese-style room located away from the living room.

In the house in Patent Document 1, the Japanese-style room is located away from the living room, making it difficult for people in the Japanese-style room to sense the presence of family members in the living room. On the other hand, if the Japanese-style room and living room are connected, the step between the two rooms maintains the Japanese-style room's independence, while making it easier for people in the Japanese-style room to sense the presence of family members in the living room. However, there are many steps on the route from the Japanese-style room to the dining room, etc., via the living room, making the house prone to lacking consideration for barrier-free access.

This invention was made in light of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to provide a home that maintains the continuity of the living room, dining kitchen, and living rooms while still maintaining their independence and that is barrier-free.

(1) The home according to the present invention is a detached house. The home comprises a dining kitchen, a living room that is adjacent to the dining kitchen and has a lower floor level than the dining kitchen, a living room that is adjacent to the living room and has a higher floor level than the living room, and a hallway that connects the living room and the dining kitchen.

The living room, dining kitchen, and living room are connected via a step in the floor, so while the independence of the living room, dining kitchen, and living room is maintained, they are also connected as spaces, allowing people in the living room to feel the presence of family members in the dining kitchen and living rooms. A hallway is provided connecting the living room and dining kitchen, so users of the living room can go to the dining kitchen through the hallway without having to cross the step between the living room, dining kitchen, and living room.

(2) The residence may further include a step-up floor that is connected to the dining kitchen, has a floor level higher than the dining kitchen, and has an upper space that is connected to the dining kitchen and the living room.

The dining kitchen and step-up floor are connected via a difference in floor level, so while the step-up floor maintains its independence, it is easy to sense the presence of family members in the dining kitchen from the step-up floor. The step-up floor is higher than the dining kitchen, and the space above is connected to the dining kitchen and living room, so you can see both from the step-up floor.

(3) The step-up floor may face the living room across from the living room.

A house 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings. It goes without saying that the embodiment described below is merely one example of the present invention, and that modifications to the embodiment of the present invention may be made as appropriate without departing from the spirit of the present invention.

In the following, the direction from the front to the back of the house 1 is referred to as the rear, the direction from the back to the front of the house 1 is referred to as the front, and the front and rear together are referred to as the front-to-back direction 71. Furthermore, the direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction 71 is referred to as the left-to-right direction 72, with one of the left-to-right directions 72 being referred to as the right and the other being referred to as the left. The refrigerator 24, stove 25, and microwave 26 face the pantry 23, kitchen 21, and dining table 22, respectively, in the front-to-rear direction 71. The space between the refrigerator 24 and stove 25 and the kitchen 21 and pantry 23 forms a work space 27.

The living room 3 is located in front of the dining kitchen 2, facing the front exterior wall 9. The living room 3 is connected to the dining kitchen 2 toward the rear. A first partition wall 10 is formed at the left end of the living room 3, dividing the living room 3. The first partition wall 10 extends in the front-to-back direction 71 from the front exterior wall 9 to the location of the kitchen 21 of the dining kitchen 2. The front portion of the first partition wall 10 has a first doorway 10a that opens in the left-to-right direction 72 from the floor to the ceiling of the living room 3. The first doorway 10a is formed in a roughly rectangular shape when viewed in the left-to-right direction 72. The rear portion of the first partition wall 10 divides the pantry 23. As shown in Figure 4, a television 31 is installed on the right side of the first partition wall 10. An opening is formed in the exterior wall 9 in front of the living room 3, and an openable first window 32 is fitted into this opening. This allows the user of the living room 3 to open the first window 32 and go to the terrace 7.

As shown in Figure 3, the floor height of the living room 3 is 360 mm lower than the floor height of the dining kitchen 2. This ensures that the resident's line of sight is closer to the ground when sitting in the living room 3. This makes it easier to see the garden plants 11 while sitting in the living room 3. There is no particular limit to the difference in floor height between the living room 3 and the dining kitchen 2, as long as the floor height of the living room 3 is lower than the floor height of the dining kitchen 2.

As shown in Figure 2, a first staircase 33 and a first waist wall 36 are provided at the step between the floor of the living room 3 and the dining kitchen 2. The first staircase 33 is located in the rear left corner of the living room 3. The first waist wall 36 extends rightward from a position adjacent to the right of the first staircase 33 to the right corner of the living room 3. The height of the first waist wall 36 is set to the waist height of a resident standing in the dining kitchen 2. Note that the first waist wall 36 may be omitted. A sofa 34, which is L-shaped in plan view, is placed along the steps at the rear and right of the living room 3. A table 35 is placed in the center of the living room 3.

Living room 4 is located in the front left corner. The front portion of living room 4 is located further forward than living room 3. Living room 4 is defined by an exterior wall 12 extending forward from the left end of exterior wall 9 in front of living room 3, an exterior wall 13 extending left from the front end of exterior wall 12, and a left exterior wall 14 extending rearward from the left end of exterior wall 13. Living room 4 is connected to living room 3 through first entrance 10a. As shown in Figures 2 and 5, an opening is formed in exterior wall 12, and an openable second window 41 is fitted into this opening. This allows the occupant of living room 4 to open second window 41 and go to terrace 7.

As shown in Figure 3, the floor height of living room 4 is the same as the floor height of dining kitchen 2. In other words, the floor height of living room 4 is 360 mm higher than the floor height of living room 3. Note that the floor height of living room 4 does not have to be the same as the floor height of dining kitchen 2, as long as it is higher than the floor height of living room 3.

As shown in Figures 2 and 4, a second staircase 42 is provided at the first entrance 10a at the step between the floor of the living room 4 and the floor of the living room 3. The second staircase 42 is located in the rear right corner of the living room 4. As shown in Figures 2 and 5, a recess 43 is formed in the center of the living room 4, recessed downward from the floor. The recess 43 is rectangular in plan view. A desk 44 is formed above the recess 43. The desk 44 has a horizontal first tabletop 45 that faces the bottom surface of the recess 43 in the up-down direction 73, and four support members 46 that extend downward from the underside of the first tabletop 45. The size and shape of the first tabletop 45 are approximately the same as the bottom surface of the recess 43. The lower ends of each support member 46 are fixed to the upper corners of the recess 43. This allows the occupant of the living room 4 to use the desk 44 while sitting like a sunken kotatsu.

A closet 47 is located that opens toward living room 4. The closet 47 is adjacent to the rear right corner of living room 4. A second entrance is formed in the rear of living room 4, connecting living room 4 to the corridor 15 (described below). A sliding door 48 is provided in the rear of living room 4 to open and close the second entrance.

As shown in Figure 2, there is a corridor 15 connecting the living room 4 and the dining kitchen 2. The corridor 15 is partitioned by the left exterior wall 14, the rear exterior wall 8, and the first partition wall 10. The corridor 15 extends rearward from the second entrance of the living room 4, turns right near the rear left corner, and leads to the work space 27 of the dining kitchen 2. The floor height of the corridor 15 is the same as the floor height of the living room 4 and the dining kitchen 2.

The plumbing fixtures 16 are installed adjacent to the corridor 15. The plumbing fixtures 16 are located between the corridor 15 and the first partition wall 10 and are continuous with the corridor 15. Examples of the plumbing fixtures 16 include a toilet 16a, a bathroom 16b, and a washroom 16c. The toilet 16a is located at the rear of the living room 4 and adjacent to the left of the closet 47. The bathroom 16b is located adjacent to the rear of the toilet 16a. The washroom 16c is located behind the bathroom 16b and adjacent to the left of the pantry 23. There are no particular restrictions on the locations of the toilet 16a, bathroom 16b, and washroom 16c, as long as they are continuous with the corridor 15. A washing machine 17 is located in the rear left corner.

As shown in Figures 2 and 4, the step-up floor 5 is located adjacent to the right of the living room 3. The step-up floor 5 faces the front exterior wall 9. The step-up floor 5 faces the living room 4 in the left-right direction 72, with the living room 3 interposed between them. The step-up floor 5 is partitioned by the front exterior wall 9 and a second partition wall 18 extending rearward from the front exterior wall 9. The second partition wall 18 is located at a distance to the right of the living room 3. The second partition wall 18 separates the step-up floor 5 from the entrance hall 19, which will be described later. The step-up floor 5 continues to the dining kitchen 2 toward the rear.

The dimension of the step-up floor 5 in the front-to-rear direction 71 is approximately half the dimension of the living room 3 in the front-to-rear direction 71. The dimension of the step-up floor 5 in the left-to-right direction 72 is approximately one-quarter of the dimension of the living room 3 in the left-to-right direction 72. As shown in Figure 3, the height of the floor surface of the step-up floor 5 is 395 mm higher than the height of the floor surface of the dining kitchen 2. The difference in height between the floor surfaces of the step-up floor 5 and the dining kitchen 2 is not particularly limited, as long as the height of the floor surface of the step-up floor 5 is higher than the height of the floor surface of the dining kitchen 2. A third staircase 51 is provided at the step between the floor surfaces of the step-up floor 5 and the dining kitchen 2.

As shown in Figures 2 and 4, a first partition wall 52 extending in the front-to-rear direction 71 is formed between the step-up floor 5 and the living room 3. The first partition wall 52 extends from a position close to the front exterior wall 9 to the rear end of the living room 3. The height of the first partition wall 52 is set to be at waist height when a resident sits on the step-up floor 5. A horizontal second tabletop 53 extending to the right is formed at the upper end of the first partition wall 52. The second tabletop 53 extends from the front end to the rear end of the first partition wall 52. The floor level below the second tabletop 53 is equal to the floor level of the dining kitchen 2. This allows users of the step-up floor 5 to use the second tabletop 53 with the feeling of sitting in a chair. A bookshelf 54 is formed on the inner surface of the front exterior wall 9 of the step-up floor 5. The step-up floor 5 may be omitted.

The entrance 19 is adjacent to the right of the step-up floor 5. The entrance 19 is located in the front right corner. A dirt floor storage area 20 is provided behind the entrance 19. The dirt floor storage area 20 is adjacent to the front of the study 6, which will be described later. A staircase 28 leading to the second floor is provided adjacent to the left of the dirt floor storage area 20. The staircase 28 passes above the dirt floor storage area 20 and above the study 6 and reaches the second floor. Note that the layout of the second floor is not part of the scope of the present invention, so a description of it will be omitted.

The study 6 is located at the corner where the rear exterior wall 8 and the right exterior wall are connected. The study 6 is partitioned by the rear exterior wall 8, the right exterior wall 29, and a second partition wall 61 extending leftward from the right exterior wall 29. The second partition wall 61 is located parallel to the rear exterior wall 8 and spaced forward from it. The second partition wall 61 separates the study 6 from the earthen floor storage area 20.

The study 6 is connected to the dining kitchen 2 to the left. As shown in Figure 3, the floor height of the study 6 is 360 mm lower than the floor height of the dining kitchen 2. There are no particular restrictions on the difference in floor height between the study 6 and the dining kitchen 2, as long as the floor height of the study 6 is lower than the floor height of the dining kitchen 2. The space above the study 6 is connected to the dining kitchen 2.

As shown in Figure 2, a fourth staircase 62 is provided at the step between the floor of the study 6 and the floor of the dining kitchen 2. The fourth staircase 62 is located in the rear left corner of the study 6. A second waist wall 63 is provided between the fourth staircase 62 and the second partition wall 61, separating the study 6 from the dining kitchen 2. The height of the second waist wall 63 is set to be about waist height for a resident standing in the dining kitchen 2. A desk 64 is provided facing the inner surface of the exterior wall 29 to the right of the study 6. An opening is formed in the exterior wall 29 to the right of the study 6, and a slit window 65 is fitted into this opening. This allows external light to enter through the slit window 65, brightening the study 6. The study 6 may be omitted.

As shown in Figures 2, 4, and 5, the terrace 7 is located adjacent to the front of the living room 3 and to the right of the living room 4. The terrace 7 is connected to the living room 3 through an opening in which the first window 32 is fitted. The terrace 7 is connected to the living room 4 through an opening in which the second window 41 is fitted. As shown in Figure 3, the floor height of the terrace 7 is equal to the floor height of the living room 4. However, the floor height of the terrace 7 does not have to be equal to the floor height of the living room 4. The terrace 7 may also be omitted.

In the house 1 according to this embodiment, the living room 3, dining kitchen 2, and living room 4 are connected via a step in the floor, so while the independence of the living room 3, dining kitchen 2, and living room 4 is maintained, they are connected as spaces, allowing the living room 3 to sense the presence of family members in the dining kitchen 2 and living room 4. In the house 1 according to this embodiment, the living room 4 and living room 3 are connected to the bright terrace 7, which creates a sense of openness in the living room 4 and living room 3. Furthermore, since the terrace 7 is located in front of the living room 3 and adjacent to the right of the living room 4, the terrace 7 can be seen through the first window 32 and the second window 41 from the living room 4, living room 3, and the step-up floor 5 adjacent to the right of the living room 3. For example, grandmother in the living room 4, mother in the living room 3, and children playing on the step-up floor 5 can see father reading on the terrace 7 through the first window 32 and the second window 41.

In the above embodiment, the floor height of the living room 4 is the same as that of the dining kitchen 2, but it does not have to be the same as that of the dining kitchen 2.
