Oxford quotation (uncountable)

1. A system of quotation, preferred in British academic publishers, wherein (i) single quotation marks are used for quotations, and double quotation marks used for quotations within quotations; and (ii) terminal punctuation marks are enclosed within a quotation if the sense of the punctuation is part of the original material being quoted, or if it suits the sense of the quoting sentence (as determined by the publisher).

使用する際の注意点

Oxford quotation is often tied to related style matters eschewed by British news and fiction publisher, but preferred by academics and recommended in Oxford University Press's style manuals, such as use of the Oxford comma. Oxford quotation style is part of the broader Oxford HUMSOC style (for journal かつ book publishing in the humanities かつ social sciences).
