too
語法tooと否定文 ①否定文の後では,通例,tooではなくeitherもしくはneitherが使われる/I don't like cold weather, and my mother doesn't, either.⇔I don't like cold weather, and neither does my mother. 君も参加しない(勧誘を表す疑問文)/Didn't you study for the test, too? She likes playing tennis, too. She, too, likes playing tennis. I like playing tennis. She likes playing tennis, too.
I know Bob very well. My sister also knows him very well. We're going to the movies tonight. Why don't you come along with us as well?
語法tooを修飾する副詞 tooを修飾する副詞としてfar, (very) much, a little, slightly, ratherなどがある.a lot, a bitも口語で用いられるときがある.very, quite, fairly, prettyは用いられない This car is a little too expensive for me. |

語源
From 中期英語 to (“also, in addition to”), from 古期英語 tō (“furthermore, also, besides”), adverbial use of preposition tō (“to, into”). The sense of "in addition, also" deriving from the original meaning of "apart, separately" (compare 古期英語 prefix tō- (“apart”)). Doublet of to; see there for more.

They burned the old gun that used to stand in the dark corner up in the garret, close to the stuffed fox that always grinned so fiercely. Perhaps the reason why he seemed in such a ghastly rage was that he did not come by his death fairly. Otherwise his pelt would not have been so perfect. And why else was he put away up there out of sight?—and so magnificent a brush as he had too.
